Fibbing at Fox
No surprises here, but Lew has collected the lies Fox told about the war in Iraq.
Fox is shameless. I can't believe people still watch that station as a news source. As most of us have realized: Fox is just a propaganda machine for the Republican party.
So Foxistas, look at this list and tell me:
Is Fox just really, really bad at reporting the news or is this an orchestrated propaganda campaign for the benefit of the Bushmen?
And why would you get news from a source that misreports key facts this much?

Have you seen the change in MSNBC?
I can hardly tell the difference between Fox and MSNBC at this point.
there's really no need for all of this

Fox at least pretends that it has news. I think MSNBC has given up that pretense.
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

I think they're the anti-Geraldo Rivera network. He must have really dicked them over when he left CNBC for Faux. I've never seen more childishness and unprofessional "reporting" than MSNBC's story on the soldiers allegedly stink-palming Geraldo.
And Scarbrough makes me appreciate the delicate thoughtfullness of Ann Coulter.

Re: Fibbing at Fox
That's surreal. No wonder a large percentage of the nation believes we've found weapons o' mass destruction in Iraq. Why isn't there a law that prevents a news source from reporting false information without being required to eventually make a retraction when the truth comes to light?

I have to give credit to the guy for hanging in there.
Just watching Faux News with the sound off makes me want to cry. I can't watch it for more than a few minutes without wondering how people like that came to be.
Falsehoods wrapped in the flag. They exude corruption.
That's just my perception though

Re: Fibbing at Fox
Maybe the worst of all is how Fox pretends to represent traditional morality. They may want to review commandment #9: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
Fox works like Bush's brain: Come to a conclusion first, then gather the facts that support the conclusion and ignore anything that may prove the conclusion wrong.

"The old, white-haired flag-waving yahoos like her not for her professionalism ? she has none ? but because of her innocent Britney Spearsesque beauty; i.e., she's a typical young piece of meat which dirty old men with too much time on their hands fantasize about."
I stopped reading after that. It's pretty obvious the author is a liberal sheep.
The fact is that Fox doesn't lie any more than any other network (which isn't a compliment to Fox BTW), you guys just can't stand them because they don't rampantly lie for your viewpoint.
I love Fox just for the fact that they make the liberals scream.
I'm going to leave it at that.

Fox doesn't lie, but your article is just as shameless as they make Fox out to be.
I watch and read a variety of news stories. The purpose of a new organization is to report the news and quote sources. If something is suspected, or someone suspects something, they report it. They'll say, "Today the Pentagon reports that Iraq may be ready to use chemical weapons against civilians". However, it's clear from the article that he doesn't know the difference between that and saying, "Iraq is ready to use chemical weapons against civilians".
From his article he pointed out, "The network begins 2 days of unequivocal assertions". A new organization doesn't make assertions, they report. Quoting the Bush adminstration for suspecting this that or the other, is not making assertions, it's part of actual journalism.
I will say Fox is a little to gungho on making too many reports of "so and so says someone may...", but all news organizations try to do that to have the edge. I see all networks doing that, but they make sure to say the source of the information and make sure there is a difference between suspecting something and having confirmed something.
The article is entirely ironic. Look at most of the article, it doesn't actually quote people, it simply says:

What's really funny is when the New York Times and LA Times are accused of the same thing, we hear nothing but "Oh, we shouold be nice to them. Accidents can happen, and we should be extra lenient on Jayson Blair because he's black." Now when it's Fox News that gets accused we hear "SHUT THAT DAMN NETWORK DOWN!!! THOSE MOTHER smurfing LAIRS SPREADING THEIR smurf AROUND SO THAT EVERY GOD DAMN MOTHER smurfing CHILD IN THE WORLD HAS TO LISTEN TO LIES THAT THEY MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT EVEN BE smurfing DOING BECAUSE I NEVER EVER WATCH THAT SORRY ASS MOTHER smurfing SON OF A BITCH STATION..."

Re: Fibbing at Fox
the newspapers had some misguided journalists pushing a specific agenda.
Did they even have an agenda? I honestly didn't follow the whole thing that closely, but I got the impression that Blair was just making stuff up to give his stories more bite, not because he was trying to fulfill some ideology.

They do this stuff on talk radio all the time. On any issue you'll hear "the liberals want so and so" or "the liberals will say such and such," usually followed by some idiotic comment. It's a lot easier to make your opponents look bad when you're given the freedom to make up their positions rather than actually debate them.

That's bull. I think for myself. I'd like an apology please.
The man's writings were nutty. I actually should have called him a "bitter liberal". That would have been much more fitting, but it didn't come to me. Read that stuff... the guy is very bitter and angry. I slipped on calling him a sheep.
I'm going to leave it at that.

What word do you normally use to describe falsehoods presented as facts?
I paticularly like how O'Peabody said he would investigate in 2 months time and then....just did nothing...

Hey, it's Lew Rockwell. He is bitter by definition. But Michael Savage, I would never call him bitter.
Bitter or not, crappy web site or not, the guy has a point. Fox has little to no journalistic integrity. They lie their asses off. BTW, that goes for CNN and MSNBC too. I would call anyone a sheep who would use these three organizations for their news source.

That's the whole show for Limbaugh/Savage/ Medved/ etc. . They make up a liberal position that never existed, then debate themselves. Then they brag about how much smarter they are than the liberals because they can rip apart the liberal position that never existed in the first place. It is all so transparent. That's why the sheep label gets tossed around so much.
