Do you have a link to that? I don't have any need to defend the BBC, but I've yet to see them do anything that puts them even remotely in the same ball park as Fox and MSNBC when it comes to propaganda.

Yep, it can't be denied, they worship the BBC and NPR as the Gospel.

You'll have to find it yourself. It was the Anti America show they did last week or the week before. Have fun.

That's useful.
Why do I have a suspicion that you think every show on there is anti-American. If you can't even describe what the actual -- even alleged -- content of the show was, I'm not likely to find it in google.

Re: Fibbing at Fox
I did find this: Link.
I'd love to know why you think that poll was "made up." Is it really that shocking that a poll of various countries would turn up a negative opinion of Bush and the Iraq war? Did you miss all of the millions of people around the wold who protested it? Hell, I'm surprised they even had to do a poll in order to fnd that out. It sounds to me like you just don't like what the poll reported, thus it must be BS.

Mart2001 seems to be using "made up" and Anti American" in his own unique definition to mean "things I don't like".

I was able to find a lot more links.
The poll was not done right. It was partly done online and alowed ppl to vote more then once. That was already proven.
As far as I am concerned, I could care less what the rest of the World thinks of us right now. In fact, I think we should call in all the Billions of dollars in loans that we have never been repaid for. And as far as the protesters, here in the US they were a small percentage of the population. Like I said, I could care less about the other countries.
If the poll was done fairly, I could accept it, but they skewed it one sided. Prove me wrong.

An opinion poll that seems to somewhat fairly represent the image of America as seen from the rest of the world is neither anti-American nor made up. "Made up" suggests deliberately false, untrue - something not accurately portraying the real event. None of these definitions would apply merely because you don't like the results of the poll. The main point, which you don't seem to get, is that even if the poll was perfectly accurate it wouldn't be anti-American any more than disagreeing with Blair on railway restructuring is anti-British. These are the same people, from the left and right, that liked Clinton. They were pro-American then and now suddenly anti-American?
It's the policy, the agenda, the politics of the moment they don't like not the place or the people.

That's either funny or horible, I'm not sure which. If you are talking about debt forgiveness, you might have a point. But if you are just talking about outstanding loans.....
It's a paradox of how sharply dull I am.

Prove you wrong? As all of us around the Ministry know, it works the other way around. You're the one making the claims, now you gotta back 'em up.
According to the link I posted above, the poll was "commissioned," which is not a term usually applied to online polls. Until I see information saying otherwise, I'm going to remain skeptical of your claims. And even if it was done online, that just means it was done badly, not that they skewed it to fit their political agenda. As I said before, why even bother with that when it's painfully obvious that most of the world has a negative view of Bush and the Iraq war? Bush couldn't put together a "real" coalition of countries to support it and hundreds of millions of people took to the streets globally to protest it. Why would they possibly need to slant such a poll?

Re: Fibbing at Fox
Why isn't there a law that prevents a news source from reporting false information without being required to eventually make a retraction when the truth comes to light?
Meh, talk about a nightmare to enforce. I prefer modern 1st Amendment jurisprudnce, thanks.

They may be making a relative judgment when saying BBC is balanced. I would say BBC is balanced relative to FOX & MSNBC, and much of the American news media, but certainly NOT balanced by my personal standards.
Besides - everyone has an agenda. There are no truly balanced news sources, only better and worse sources. One should go to as many sources as possible, assess who the writer is, what is their purpose with the story, what privileged position is supported and who benefits from the story, who is the intended audience, what crucial information is not included, etc., and then make a logical decision as to what more likely is the truth.

Re: Fibbing at Fox
What's really funny is when the New York Times and LA Times are accused of the same thing, we hear nothing but "Oh, we shouold be nice to them. Accidents can happen, and we should be extra lenient on Jayson Blair because he's black." Now when it's Fox News that gets accused we hear "SHUT THAT DAMN NETWORK DOWN!!! THOSE MOTHER smurfing LAIRS SPREADING THEIR smurf AROUND SO THAT EVERY GOD DAMN MOTHER smurfing CHILD IN THE WORLD HAS TO LISTEN TO LIES THAT THEY MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT EVEN BE smurfing DOING BECAUSE I NEVER EVER WATCH THAT SORRY ASS MOTHER smurfing SON OF A BITCH STATION..."
Whoa there buddy...take deep breaths....

The BBC played a song from Jamaica about burning gay men alive for sport and "justified" that decision by saying the song was popular.

Yeah, I was at a friends house once and he said we were having roast smurf for dinner, and I was somewhat confuzed.
A smurf is also a bundle of sticks, which one could happily burn without being evil.

Re: Fibbing at Fox
Few people get me angry quicker than ClayH. You called the reporter bitter and angry for pointing out that Fox is full of it, then you say 'I love Fox just for the fact that they make the liberals scream.' Recently Fox compared political people to celebrities, talking about how Bush went to Yale and so and so dropped out of college. Bush only went to Yale because his daddy was president. Come on, stop generalizing and being 'angry and bitter'.
