Neither. I'll say it takes some getting used to. Once again has Apple set a new standard both in features and looks. I'll guess this is the milestone where we say bye bye to the complete aquafeel of the Macs and hello to the metalic cold adonized aluminium feel.

I'll admit it. The new machine looks great. The specs are fantastic. I've already sold all my older Mac equipment on eBay in the past two weeks to make room for the new stuff...

There's only one nagging gripe that keeps me from pure bliss and happiness. <Sigh>

My game choices are still too stinky to be able to get rid of my Alienware game machine once and for all. When I can get one, it's six months behind. mad

All this wonderfully powerful harware would totally DUST my 3ghz Alienware box. But till the developers start coughing up the games alongside their PC counterparts, the hardcore gamers are stuck with at least one Windoze box to play online with our Peecee lovin' friends.

Can we put some heat on these developers? What gives with this?

'Scuse my rant... I was just salivating over what the latest and greatest games would look like on this new hardware... big_smile

yeah, so it looks like a killer cheese grater from the Terminator machine future. who cares?! its f'ing GAWGEOUS! now my biggest concern is where i'm going to find the time to properly thumb my nose at all the PC losers now that they have NOTHING on us Mac users.

The old cases were remenants of the five flavor iMacs. Even the 'new' windtunnel versions looks like the old G3 B&W tower. It was time for an update! Apple delivered. The case looks more profesional and more streamlined than a Peecee's. A top end machine needs to functional but does not need to be like the ground breaking iMacs.

One BIG problem tho - the OLD cases were EASY ACCESS EVERYTHING - this one looks like a bear to put pci cards or ram in when you compare it to the old one - I WANT THE MOBO ON THE DOOR DAMMIT!!!

EVERYONE praised the easy access of the old design - this one doesn't come CLOSE - two doors to open, everything DOWN IN THE MACHINE, tight quarters when trying to fit hands into where expansion goes...

THat said I still want one (cuz this case is still better than any pc I know of.

eek I just saw the new G5 on www.apple.com and what I have to say is that Macs have dramatically transform, not only everything is new in it and out....but this new machines are even looking like PCs....sorry to say that but is the truth.

False. Your friend's a bozo. The "G5" in the new Power Mac G5 is an IBM PowerPC 970, based on the architecture used in their Power line of server-class chips.
