Yeah, I always get that.  Just try again, and it'll let you on.  At least, that always works for me.  In other words, press escape to get out of the loading screen, hit Play again, Join server, and double click on [MA] Server again to join.  Should work-- I hope.

About that low ping only thing. Why does the game have it if it is so easy to circumvent?

w00t! i got on the server!!!

i wasnt sure what my problem was, so i took all my extras out of my base folder, and i was able to get on, so apparently it was someting from there.

so i hopped on the server, and i was messing around, and i made it lightsaber only, ill see what i can do later about the force powers later. there wernt any bots when i got in there, and so i added two (although i was just messing around to make sure it worked, and so i eded up adding one with a level of 3 (out of 5) and one with a strength of 1, so ill have to fix that when i get home . i restarted the map a couple times, and the bots stuck around, so that was good. when i let the map change by the time running out, it changed maps on its own, although i didnt get a chace to see how much you can do with that, but i gotta run to work now or ill be late , so ill see what i can do about messing around with it tonight.

just to save me the time from having to look though, does anyone know off the top of their head what the command is to remove a bot, or to enable select force powers?

I was just on the server, and some force powers were disabled, so someone must have been tweaking it a bit. 

What I like best about JKII, are the things that make the game unique: lightsabers and force powers.  I'd vote for full force powers.  If you want to limit their use on you, you can always use the Absorb power. 

Although, for duels, I like just having Jump and the three Saber powers on. 

If a server turns off the Force, and allows guns, to me, that's just like playing any number of multiplayer FPS's out there.

If you dont like getting pushed off (I feel ya, on that ns_streets map I'm constantly dying by dropping off a ledge into nothingness), you can always minimize it by Absorb, or by having a Force reserve to auto-Push back, or by not jumping and thus allowing someone to Push you (always a problem for me, a guy who likes the Jump power waaaaay too much sometimes), or the like.  To me, that's part of the strategy of the game.

I'd sure like to see what others think, though.

(Most importantly, I think we need to turn voting on, so that we can change the gametype (to Duel, CTF, etc) sometimes.)

Indeed. Lighting is a bit excessive. I only use lightning these days when others use lighting...a lot and I only use it to finish people off.

So, who was in charge of putting the bots on? Kyle was an idiot. He killed himself 5 times when I was on. Although he was a persistent little bugger. Jan was a little more intelligent...she ran away a lot...but she killed herself 3 times. What level where they on?

Hey I kinda liked the server with sabers only last night. Well mostly cause ppl that came on couldnt resort to rocket hoing. Get tired of being chased by rockets when I want to hack n slash.

Only complaint was the lag on the server. None before the changes but a ton after the changes.

I too want the voting on cause I get tired of doing DM all the time.

           

so yeah, im on the server changing the prefs, and some guy named frosty/domer comes on, and i give him a friendly heads up that im going to be changing the prefs (if it was someone from the clan i would have asked if they wanted the changes, and then just let the map restart on its own later, like i did yesterday, but i didnt feel like asking some non MA person their opinion on how our server goes), and restarting the map a couple times, and he says "nien" ( ), so i go about making the changes, like so that there will be a MIN number of bots, instead of just the two from yesterday, and i enabled voting, and messed with the force powers, and so i restart the map so i can check everything out, and make sure it works. then i use the map voting to see how that works, and i changed to a random map, and the dude starts trying to vote me out of there. i was trying to be nice about it, but then bird came on, and asked about him, so i guess hes just one of those jerks that comes with being listed public. but i still think NCs idea of advertising is cool, but were going to have to put up with that if we want to expand a little.

anyways, yeah, voting us up for now, and there are random (server generated, not chewie generated ) bots. go have fun now, and dont abuse voting power
