Oh, your so lucky. At least there isnt WestNile virus, or very many SARS cases in Alaska.

hype: from the noun hyperbole, a purposeful exaggeration.
SARS is not a big problem, people....5000 cases worldwide and some infants and elderly people died. I think about 3-5% dead total. ANY common disease, like the common cold, will kill between 2 and 4% of its victims. I think that a 1% increase hardly constitutes buying breath masks, etc.
Sorry, I'm just sick of the following conversation:
"Hi, I'm from Canada".
"Canada? Augh! Stay away! SARS!"

You're from Canada?
Yipes! Get away!
Someone disinfect the thread before we all get SARS.

Hm, 91
I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.

It's a little thing called "adaptation."
I can be comfortable when the summer hits 105

Another from Austin Texas, I would give anything (alomst) for it to be 75.
On a side note, all of us from Austin should petition get an Apple store here I think.

Re: HOT! Too hot for me!
I want a Apple Store in Anchorage, or Kodiak, but it would never come to kodiak, like nobody here has a Mac. Anchorage is the biggest city in Alaska, they have one apple store, but it isn't owned by apple or anything.

Ferry line, so that may mean, Juneau, Valdez, Seward, Homer, and Possibly Kodiak! If you stop in seward, you can go to the seward sealife center. That place is really cool!
Let me know where your going, and I can tell you some of the hot spots

There are many other mac selling stores. There is all the chains that sell macs such as compusa, and a bunch of smaller mac selling stores apart from "The Mac Store"

The computer store in Anchorage that specializes in Macs - It was my mecca during the time I was living in Homer; I made regular pilgrimages. I learned my way around the city because of that store: "Let's see, if we go this way, we'll reach the Apple store, so we want to be going that way..."

You lived in homer! Sweet! How long ago?
I just moved from there in 1999. I lived there for 6 years. 1993-1999. I like homer much better than kodiak. They actually had a good pizza place there!

Re: HOT! Too hot for me!
I have gone to the Apple Headquarters in Cupertino once, it was really cool. The only bad part about it was that I only bought a pen there. I also went to the Palo Alto store by stanford... It wasn't quite as cool, but it was cool enough for me, since that was one of the two Apple stores in the world I have seen. SWEETNESS!
Wait a sec ... you went to headquarters in Cupertino? We asked and they said they didn't give tours or anything when we went to San Francisco ... If I went I woulda bought a million pens, one of the people that works at the independent Apple store (as in not owned by Apple) had one, damn it was cool.
Oh, and Jeapadea, if you're wearing black pants, that's cheating. It's only hot if you're standing there naked and you're still sweating.
This signature has just wasted approximately 3.4 seconds of your time.

I was there between 2000 and 2002. There were two Pizzerias in Homer by then, but I'd have to say that neither one was very good. (I'm from New York - that's where you want to go for good pizza. Either Brooklyn, or "Franco Di Roma" in Middletown NY.) Nowhere in AK was there a good Chinese place (nor on the west coast, for that matter).
I didn't mind the Summertime weather at all, and even the winter was just fine... but the light! Bright daylight for 20 hrs is ok, but the reverse in winter just about drove me batty.
Remember the Sedge? That's why I was there. It's been decommissioned now.

Re: HOT! Too hot for me!
Mwahaha...we have three Apple stores in the D.C. area. THREE! And, with any luck, another one coming soon (I hate having to go out to Tyson's Corner).
Very little good pizza, though.
