DivX Playback Wierdness

Hi.

I've been fooling around encoding DVDs (that I own) and encountered some wierdness.

istarted using Xmpeg, but had a couple crashes and decided to try something else. I searched around the web & downloaded Vidomi. The resulting avi file is just fine in Windows Media Player and, of course, using the Vidomi player, but if I try to play the movie using the DivX player (I have v2.0 alpha) it freezes the program & I have to close it with the Task Manager. (Windows 2000)

Further experimentation has proven that any file encoded with the Vidomi encoder will fail to play in DivX player, but will work fine in WMP or Vidomi.

What gives?
