password?
ive gotten a few complaints about random people coming off the streets being jerks. do you guys want to have it password protected? if we did, it would be something easy like "clanma" or "givethewookieeabillioncookiees:D"
, and of course you guys would be free to invite people in as you feel fit, but at least this way we wont get people running around being jerks and spouting random lame racist comments or something
the poll is only up for 3 days, and if we dont like being so alone, it can be taken down, but we might want to try it this way for at least a while

Re: password?
Right now we are getting every vagrant that passes thru. This is the same way MA2 was set up in the beginning.
I'd like to either have it taken off the public list or have a pass enabled cause when ya want to frag someone like bird
, ya wanna frag him
. Not get interrupted by a dozen others that you have no idea about
.
Plus having it protected would benefit newer players/members to MA that might not be up to playing against the entire world.
Oh and we can enforce our own rules easier than having to tell the public not to act like a *bleep*
.

Well I was always fond of the pcsuck password I recommended a while ago.

But then I'll have nobody to pick on while I try to give the MA regulars a very slim chance to kill me by luck

Re: password?
Yes, a password, or a private server (off the in-game list). I'd rather go with a p/w, I guess. We're getting all sorts of cretins passing through, and some of them are not my kind of scum. I was greeted this afternoon with an immediate kick vote on me when I connected.
I say let's seperate the wheat from the chaff, a little bit.

Re: password?
I vote yes, with conditions.
It filled up pretty quickly last night, and with a passwd that's just not going to happen. I don't think there are enough MA at this point to sustain a passwd-only server, so unless we plan on sharing it with a few other clans I'd say passwd only when we plan on clan practice or duels.

Re: password?
i would definitely prefer a password, what with some of the people we have coming through. maybe we could share the password with select players we find worthy?
i like the pcsucks pw though.

Definitely. On both counts.

Re: password?
so, i've been playing way too much on our server recently, and it is indeed clear that there are a lot of jerks out there
, and that a password is needed. i think anyone who objects should make their voice heard in this thread, but i don't think anyone will. so we need to choose a pw. pcsucks has been suggested, and i'd like to second its nomination. anyone got any other ideas?
edit: ooh ooh! i had an idea! maybe we could open a room on GR and have someone with nothing better to do sit around and talk to people to find out whether or not they are asshats! if they aren't, then we could give them the pw! i nominate anyone but me for this job.

I've played on GR for some time now, and I will invite a few peeps over to our server, but not until we seperate the wheat from the chaff a bit.
We really need a p/w, though. pcsucks will work just fine and dandy.

Re: password?
Yeah. last night was a mixed crowd when I was on. A few decent people, a few force ho's, and a few n00bs passing through.
Like I already said, if we passwd it, the traffic is going to drop dramatically, and since we all seem to play at different times, it could be frustrating. (Sorry, the bots are just too stupid to make it worthwhile!)
Why don't we go ahead and lock it up for say a week or two, and see how it goes. I've been pubbing anyway, so if we have liberty to share the passwd with decent players then I'll gladly pass it along. For that reason only, a PeeCee bashing passwd might not be a great idea.

Re: password?
:: bump ::
I'm still of the opinion we need a password. Tried to get a game going just now but the two other guys on were more interested in chatting and teaching than playing. Not that great.

Re: password?
A good idea, I want to add my vote to the op but the poll is closed. So add 1 to the # there.
Too many random n00bs and such (I don't care about force ho's... I am one
).

Dude, I hate to keep ragging on you, but lightning spam takes about as much skill as spawncamping with a deemer in UT.
