I AM CONFUSED. WHAT DO YOU WANT? TELL ME NOW!please

on a scale of 1(low)-7(high), how strong do you want the force powers?

how many min players do you want (2-3)?

password protection?

taken off the in-game list?

time limit(15-30 is best)?

frag limit?

flag limit(5?-ctf only)?

any force powers disabled? (note, if you pick one from one force side, ie, lightening, pick something from the light side too, to make it fair)

guns on or off?

force based teams (red = dark powers only, blue = light powers)

etc:

so your post should look like this:

min players: #
password: y/n
on ingame server list: y/n
timelimit: ##
fraglimit: ##
flaglimit: #
force powers disabled: dark-XXXX light-XXXX

i know there is a few threads on parts of this already, but if all this were in one place, it would be easiest. i can just take all the numbers you guys give me, and average them together, or pick the oen that has the most, or etc

min players: 3-4 DM, 6 for CTF
password: yes if still public, no if not public
on ingame server list: no (see password bit)
timelimit: 20-30
fraglimit: 15-20 DM, 20-25 Team DM
flaglimit: 5
Duel limit: 5-10
force powers disabled: dark-Sight light-Sight (forget what side sight is on big_smile )
lightsaber only: yes
force based teams: no (i like being blue and using the dark side )

force level: 7 (Again, there are always ways to counteract Force powers against you. You just can't Absorb and Drain or Grip at the same time. It's a trade-off.)
min players: 3 for FFA, 2 for Duel, 6 for CTF (How you'd actually do this, I have no clue)
password: yes
on ingame server list: yes if p/w, no otherwise
timelimit: 30 if we trim the maps down, 20 if not
fraglimit: 20 for FFA, 10 for Duel, 30 or even more for Team FFA
flaglimit: (is this # of flag captures?) 10, if so
force powers disabled: none. I dislike lightning whores, as well, but we can all just agree not to use it ... much
lightsaber only: yes, except for the occasional game. Actually, guns are fine in duels, as there's usually only the stormtrooper rifle or the bowcaster anyway, and their use is usually a quick invitation to death. smile
force based teams: yes (I like the eternal battle between Light and Dark)

(Some things we may have to change occasionally, before we give Chewie a coronary by trying to keep up with all our various demands...

Force Powers - not sure what number it is, but Jedi Knight is just right: not too little, not too much

Minimum Players - 3

Password - yes (distributed via forums or IRC perhaps?)

In-Game Listing - take us off only if we don't password it

Time Limit - 20 minutes

Frag Limit - 15

Flap Capture Limit - 5

Disable Force Powers - Lightning and Mind Trick

Guns - undecided

Force Based Teams - yes

I don't think Jediservers allows them to up the max ping past 400. Are you really getting higher pings than that? Bummer ... sad

make the max ping, so anyone can get on, or make it 1000.

Just hit escape when the low ping comes up and then reconnect. It works everytime for me.

I know I'm guilty, too, but let's at least try to keep this thread according to Chewie's parameters. I get the feeling she really wants to know how we want the server set up, and tangents aren't going to help her any.

Id like to change my vote on the force powers to get rid of Lightning on the Dark side and sight on the light side.

If you get rid of Sight, and your opponent is also a Light Force user, he or she can use Mind Trick to become invisible and you've got no recourse except to run away or allow yourself to be attacked. confused

My prefs:

force level: 3-4 If public
min players: 3
password: Yes for practice/FFA - No for Duels*
on ingame server list: Yes, Always
timelimit: 20
fraglimit: Duel:1 per round, 10 per map. FFA: 20
flaglimit: 5
force powers disabled: None if the Force Level is low enough, it should discourage abuse.
lightsaber only: Duels: YES! FFA/CTF/Etc: no
force based teams: no

* If the settings are "normal enough" I think that a public Duel server can be a great place to meet real players who aren't there just to screw with people. By "normal" I mean medium force, jump only. Saber only. One kill per duel, not 3 as it is now. Those are just the servers I tend to stay on most, and the people I've met are just there to play mostly and not be moorons.
