Firefly was a great sci-fi show on FOX.

When/where did it air? I've never seen even a commercial of it, and I watch FOX (5) a lot, at least twice everyday. (The Simpsons.)

Quite a few months ago. FOX didn't play it up all that much, and then when they were airing it, they ended up pre-empting it with baseball stuff for about a month or two. Then they complained about it getting low ratings and put it on hiatus. I did my part to try to save the show, but it didn't work, and FOX axed it permanently. I've heard that they will be releasing a special set of DVDs with all of the original episodes, cast interviews, etc. eventually, though.

Too bad, seems like a show I would watch. Maybe I'll pick up the DVD, if it happens to be in my immediate line of sight some time, although I cannot promise to put up an effort to actually look for it...

It was written and created by Joss Whedon, who, apart from being the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, wrote the screenplay for Toy Story (and possibly Toy Story 2, but I don't remember). He's a fantastic writer, and his sharp writing, detail, and wit were all over the Firefly series. The acting, writing, and character development were leaps and bounds above crappy syndicated shows a la Hercules, Xena, Andromeda, and She Spies.
