MysticCow:
Yes.. we care a great deal about Governor Davis imminently being recalled by the residents of California; our concern, at least mine, is how soon it can be done and whether that process can be hurried. I never thought this guy Davis was good for California; I think California needs another tough Governor; similar to Ronald Reagan: remember those days? Since I am not a resident of that state, I cannot offer an opinion but rather I anxiously await the vote of the citizens...
On a related issue, on the east coast, I think the New York senator should be recalled...Senator Clinton of NY never satified her representation requirements before she became senator of NY.. recall the bitch moved out of White House, to NYC, then on to senator... here's hoping NY will find the balls to recall this bitch!

Spending it in the right ways. Get rid of the worthless piles of crap and put ppl in there who can do the job.
We have a few here in Portland. Mayor Vera Katz. She is the most worthless pile we ever had.
And our Gov, Mr. Tax and Spend II. Because of him Oregon has lost a lot of industry. The State is going broke and he goes out and with taxpayers money, buys a new limo for hisself and a top of the line SUV for his Security Staff.

Actually, I think there are a hell of a lot of Democrats in CA who want him gone.

Yeah sure. We re-elected him less than 2 years ago, and now we've come to our senses. (Californians are so fickle.)
Probably doesn't have much to due with rich Republicans who paid an army of petitioneers to harass shoppers at Wal-Mart.

well you are incorrect, the people of california have satisfied the requirement to trigger a recall election, therefore the people want this election

Re: Doesn't anybody care about Gray Davis getting recalled???
He has bankrupted that state, turning a $10 billion surplus into a $40 billion deficit in just five years.
I read this and thought it was pretty freakin' ironic. In three years, Bush has gone from the single biggest surplus in American history (~$110 billion) to the biggest deficit in American history (~$450 billion). I'm deeply shocked and surprised that the "Fair and Balanced" Bill O'Reilly failed to mention this.
Rumors going around that the economy hasn't been doing that well for the last five years. I hear taxes are sometimes based on the economy. And that the Republicans are stonewalling a responsible budget in California. If anything, it's their fault for preventing Davis from cutting programs and raising taxes. They vote down -anything- that raises taxes -at all-.

Apparently the White House isn't big on this recall deal, because they feel that it will be more difficult for Bush to campaign in California if he doesn't have Davis to campaign 'against.'

congress is responsible for passing spending oh and guess what the economy got assulted by:
1) an overvalued unsustainable market, primaritly worthless tech stocks
2) we got attacked on 9/11 which dropped down the economy even further.

You may well be right about the part I highlighted in green, but let's just hope that the Democrats can push the election forward to coincide with the primaries, and save the people of California the huge cost of a special election.

My word was "spending" not "wasting", but thanks for the suggestion.

The recall is fun. It'll be the first election I participate in.
I think most Republicans are planning to vote out davis, and vote in an equally incompetent democrat.

Re: Doesn't anybody care about Gray Davis getting recalled???
Granted, this isn't entirely Davis' fault. The economy aint doing so well, and most states are in a budget crunch. However, he sure hasn't helped it. This isn't Republicans spending the taxpayers money, this is the taxpayers spending the taxpayers money, and the Republicans are liking it. If you think that the recall is a result of Repubs harassing people at Wal-Mart (aka Purgatory), then you are gravely mistaken. I think the fact that this approval rating is an abysmal 28% would clue you in. The problem with California is that the people probably wont like ANYONE that goes in there, simply because California is going to have to bite the bullet and make some tough decisions. That's what happens when your state is full of nuts, yuppies, and celebrities.

That's precicely how its done. Petition-takers are a common sight around store entrances, and given enough money, they can always fulfill the quota. Our ballots are rife with strange and curious ballot initiatives. But mercifully, these ballot initiatives appear during scheduled elections. Thanks to the financiers of this recall, Californians get to pay for a special election.

Re: Doesn't anybody care about Gray Davis getting recalled???
You missed the part about his awful ratings. And it's smurfing WAL-MART, fa chrissakes! It's a stinking smurf! There's a Wal-Mart Supercenter in my town in rural Washington, and there's usually some goon standing at the doorway for something. Granted, Moses Lake isn't nearly as nutty or activist-laden as a city in CA. I'll bet there's people for every cause under the planet running around getting signatures in CA. However, this one is linked to actual numbers. Imagine that.
Good ol' Wal-Mart, home of the Greasy Mullet.
