You can see them at CNN.com
I refuse to look.
Went to the site but although it said "US releases photographs ... " there was
nothing more..

If you use the weapons of your enemy, you slowly become your own enemy.

Re: Corpses of Saddam's sons shown on TV
Distasteful and illegal.
Illegal? What authority can censor that?
The Geneva Convention prohibits displaying the dead for propaganda.
this is quite a different scenario. people want proof of their death. how else do you think they'll get it? drive their bodies around to every house and let them see for themselves?
i'm glad they showed the pictures. let the iraqi people know that they are dead. let the american's know we've killed off the regime's next rulers.

What's the point, anyway? People are gonna believe what they want to believe. Millions of people believe Bush was behind 9/11. Millions more believe the Pentagon has been secretly hiding ailen corposes and technology. You really believe displaying the bodies of these guys will convince the skeptics?

I've been getting confused. Who is Hu Sen?
The TV versions of the photos were pretty tame. Go to rotton or ogrish and you can probably find better ones.
Good riddance to uuday and quoosay. I only wish they could have died more than once.
I'm going to leave it at that.

That was kind of lame... When they do the medical and dental record match-ups and all that junk, then it's just fact or non-fact, and whoever doesn't believe it is a nuttjob.
I'm going to leave it at that.

The hardcore skeptics no way, but there are middle of the road skeptics who only want some evidence.

Re: Corpses of Saddam's sons shown on TV
The point of doing this was to prove to people in Iraq that they are, in fact, dead.
It was all over the news yesterday about how the administration was debating if they should show the bodies on TV or not, on the one hand it'd be pretty foul, could be seen as gloating, and they would be violating some of their own principlies, but one the other, it's the easiest way to silence the large number of people who say that the US was lying and that the two were not really dead.
But this still doesn't explain why it was shown IN AMERICA. I can see why the Iraqi people would need proof, but wouldn't television in Iraq have been the only necessary venue for that?

Maybe it was for the scores of hardcore anti-Bush Minithinkers would would happily believe that Bush is lying about this as well.

For me, it's certainly not a question of believing or not. . .
This administration has suffered the effects of having had no proof of anything to substantiate anything they've done in Iraq. . . in addition to the humiliation of not having the head of Bin Laden to display in the Forum.
They're the only trophies available.
Personally, I thought that one of the claims to the greatness of western civilization was that we've collectively evolved past the need to do things like publicly displaying the heads of our opponents. I was right, it's only a claim.

You'd think that they'd take better pictures if they wanted to ensure us all of their death. It looks like Chris Carter of XFiles fame set this one up it's so dark.
And, as said, this is morally reprehensible. There's just no good reason to parade around your fallen foes.

you can only do so much before you just have to realize the person you're trying to convince is a moron.
i can tell you i'm drinking a mt dew right now. i could show you pictures. but you still don't have to believe me. that's your choice.
when someone kills one of your family members, don't you feel better seeing them taken away in handcuffs, or would you rather just have someone say "hey, i saw them going away in handcuffs"?
you can believe everything in this world is a conspiracy, but that's your problem.

And speaking of parading, floats and a marching band would have been kinda neat, if incredibly arrogant.

it's not parading. i don't see "1st Place" or anything on their heads. it's giving proof that "we have killed saddam's sons". of course, the vibe i'm getting from the people in here, they could throw the body on your living room floor, lay out their id's and you'd still not believe it.
there are more pictures. they didn't take pics of the bodies with a Kodak Oneshot.
the people in iraq got flyers, cd-roms with pics, etc..
