I miss the Honda CRX Si.
If I could find a 1991 model that came out of a time capsule, I'd give up my Integra in a heartbeat. And my 'teg is a fantastic little car.

yeah that was a fun little car.

I miss Coke in a glass bottle. In most of their commercials the actor is almost always drinking from a glass bottle yet they are very hard to find. I think it tastes better from glass as opposed to plastic.

I miss Coke sweetened with sugar instead of corn syrup.  That's one of the nice things about Mexico.  They still do it the old way.  Huge taste difference.  Glass bottles, too.

Oh, and my local Smith's (Kroger under different name) sells Coke in glass bottles.

Interesting.  Is this exclusive to Mexico, or do they use sugar in many countries?

You know, I don't know the answer to that.  Seems like the Coke I had in Europe tasted pretty much like Coke here.  And it's been so long since I've been to South America that I can't recall.  I don't recall having anything that didn't have copious amounts of alcohol in it during any of my trips to the Caribbean (okay, that's not totally true...  But I don't recall having a Coke, anyway).

OK, I guess I'll just read the ingredient list when I go to one of these countries.

I sure don't.  Yesterday I bought a new keyboard (I got tired of replacing broken keys on my old one) and its manual is quite lengthy.  Unfortunately a lot of the content is boilerplate "How to plug this device into the wall" kind of stuff.

It sucks trying to filter out the stuff they have to put in there for n00bs (the necessity of which I understand) to get to the features that I need to get this thing up to speed for use on the gig tonight.

They use whatever's cheapest or easiest to get hold of. In the US, that's corn syrup. Over here, it's sucrose all the way baby. Also, I think they're not allowed to use phosphoric acid over in some or all parts of Europe so they have to use citric, but I could be wrong about that.

Also, over here they've started selling coke in glass bottles again but it's only for the hospitality trade.

Re: stuff that is no longer available...

I miss:  The "real" Coca-Cola, made with suger, in the thick glass bottles, from a real vending machine such as this one..  These were referred to as "Coke Machines".

Who, besides Justine, Tom Veil, and myself, has ever purchased a bottled soft drink for ten cents?

Cocoa-Cola puts the glass bottles on the market around xmas time each year in the Northeast, but they are not the thick heavy ones.

I miss the popcorn from woolworth's. That had to be the best popcorn on the planet. A fifteen cent bag was like heaven.  They sold a lot of it, so it was always freshly popped.

I miss Howard Johnson's restaurants on the highways. And to think, you never had to worry about the quality of the food, or whether or not it was going to make you sick. There is one Howard Johnson's left in MA. It's in Greenfield.

How about those mysterious chimes you heard in some department stores?

Free maps at gas stations.

Hmm,, Guess I'll stop now.

I miss Jolt cola (it's not as available as it used to be).
(I can find Jolt...it's just a lot less convenient)

OH HELL YES. Jolt Cola is the best. I only know of one gas station that still carries it.

Soda doesn't have a very long shelf life.

You'd be surprised. You can drink pretty much any soda as long as it's still carbonated.

Oh, and I miss Mello Yello. I can only find it in Indiana. Damn Mountain Dew. You are worthless compared to the almighty beverage that is Mello Yello.

Haircuts suck. Barbers suck. Screw you, barber. Or "hair stylist". Whatever the hell you want to call yourself. Either way, you're a butcherer of my awesome hair, you bastard.

Re: stuff that is no longer available...

Mello Yello has made a comeback in Canada. It was off the market for awhile (even I can remember it), but they brought it back a year or two ago.
