UTX progress
I was just poking around and found this on Ryan Gordon's developer log:
UTPG: Please stop emailing me to ask if this is done yet.
Got the AL renderer (and the MikMod glue) rewritten and working...I now get sound effects and music on MacOS X.
Only thing that appears to not be functioning correctly at this point is the source volumes...the AL renderer used AL_GAIN_LINEAR_LOKI, which was an extension that only existed in Loki's implementation. I just need to see what exactly that entails, and do the proper conversions before feeding AL_GAIN... it's probably something simple, just haven't checked it, yet.
If anyone has a legal copy (i.e. - you own the original discs that came out of a non-Academic version) of Codewarrior 7 they can donate to me, it would help make sure that the OS9 version of UT continues to work online when UTPG breaks network compatibility.
One of you has a copy collecting dust in the closet since you've probably upgraded _TWICE_ since that version, and I could really use it, here. Please drop me a line if you can help. I'm seriously not cherishing the idea of backporting the thing to CodeWarrior 6, since that's all I've got here.
Ask your IT department if there's a copy in storage they can let go of. Someone's got to have a copy they don't need at this point.
He also has a ton of other projects going, so I doubt this will be done anytime soon...

What the heck is UTPG and what would it mean to break network compatibility?

UTPG = UT Preservation Group
If network compatibility is broken for UT in UTPG then no more UT in OS9 online with the preserved version of UT (OSX).
Is that confusing enough?

Ear, you forgot the most important post in that site. Duke Nukem 3D is coming to Mac OS X!!!
Actually looks like The Duke may be close since he is asking for icons and splash screens. (not a sarcastic statement

Re: UTX progress
Anyone for OS9 MacDoomLegacy, Aleph One, or Myth2?
Aleph One and Myth 2 (even Myth 1) is available for Mac OS X too.
I believe MacDoomLegacy is also available for Mac OS X, but I'm not 100% sure (more like 70%).
Only reason I boot to OS 9 is to play PSX games and some 3D games that require hardware acceleration.

Perhaps I was not clear. Anyone for playing MacDoomLegacy (OS9 Version is the only one that supports netplay), Aleph One, or Myth2 with me?

Re: UTX progress
Hey I was just asking a question. I haven't heard anything new since Unreal T Preview 3 came out so long ago. Then I saw this. Sheesh I'm sorry.

Okay good. Sorry it's been a very long day. My PowerMac G4 Quicksilver is at a computer shop thanks to 10.2.8 and I am going nuts having to use a PC.

I wonder if CodeWarrior Gold 11 for Mac OS will work? I've got the Tools and Reference disks. I haven't used it for years.

He's already got a copy.
Yup, he said on his page that he worked out a deal with someone. I'd just like to thank that person.
