Re: Hardees or Carl's Jr.?
Jewel rules the Chicago & Northern Indiana metropolitan area, some Cub Foods, Kroger, and a few Moo & Oink's too.
I saw that Albertson's logo on The Wire last week so I looked them up on the net:

Re: Hardees or Carl's Jr.?
They are not the same. Hardee's blows a large goat, while Carl's Jr. rocks my world.
I am in northern California. We have Carl's Jr. Last year I was in Montana at this time. They have Hardee's. That was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever experienced.

Whole of OR: if it's there, it's a Carl's.
MD and I believe DE, possibly VA and points further south: Hardee's all the way.
Never been to a Hardee's for food, just to stop at the one in Salisbury for restrooms on the way to Ocean City.
Oh and since someone else brought it up, I have to throw up props to Fred Meyer's, Albertson's, and Publix.
So endeth the lurk, I guess.

Re: Hardees or Carl's Jr.?
Carl's Jr. here.
I prefer Whataburger over any fast food place though.
Where I grew up, it was Hardees.
I can't believe anyone would favor Whateveraburger over anything, though. That place blows!

Burger Chef rocks...wait
Hardees is good, but Sonic is the best. I have to drive over an hour to get to one, but it is worth it. Sonic is my fave fast food.

They just built a Sonic here. The bacon sourdough burger is awesome.

Re: Hardees or Carl's Jr.?
When Hardees was first started it was more of a hotdog place than a burger place. Then it disappeared for about ten years. Then it came back in its current form: a sad attempt at competition for the better fast food places like In N Out and Sonic.

Hardee's, but I'd really rather eat almost anywhere else.

Hardee's. It's the only fast-food restaurant in the county.
However, I doubt we'll be eating there as often since they introduced the expensive burgers and don't offer anything else.
If I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be here.

Re: Hardees or Carl's Jr.?
Salt Lake City used to be Hardee's territory about five years ago or so. Now it is Carl's Jr. Since H was bought by C's J I suspect that this trend will spread until Hardee's is nothing more than a footnote to history. Decent burgers, and when I have a coupon for a dollar off they are almost reasonably priced.

Haven't seen a Hardees since the last time I went to VA, although there may have been one in Delaware. Sonic is much more common further south, although there are a few popping up in the area. My favprite fast food, though, is Chipotle. NOt as good as the stuf I got in SF, but leaps and bounds ahead of most else around here. McDonalds are divesting themselves of it, though, so I don't know what's going to happen. It seems like a strange move, they keep building new ones by us (just saw one at Tyson's on an Apple Store run).
On a side note, since when do we have Fred Meyer's or Albertson's?
Now THAT was a rant for the ages. I'd say it was one of my best to date. Why isn't there a rant smilie, anyway?

Maybe it just sucked because you were in Montana.
