What's with all the white space?

THIS POST WILL TAKE YOU ON A WILD RIDE

GUIDED BY ME, MACMAN824

I seem to have noticed

that lately, MacAddict has a lot

of

white space.  We have huge margins, gigantic headlines, and, in the case of the September issue on page 27, the actual content not starting until 4.5 inches down the page.  Meanwhile said page has nearly 1 inch of white space above the subheading, and two four square inches of white space to its immediate right.

What's with that?

And why is every photograph in the magazine accompanied by "Photography by Mark Maddeo?"  He's listed in the masthead, we know he's the staff photographer, why is his name constantly spammed all over the place?

I know I'm whining, but...eegh.  Even the Editor's Note takes up about 1/4 the space it used to.  Where'd the content (literally) go?
