my fellow Torontonians: where'd you buy your iBook?
I'm just curious to know what stores you guys bought your iBook in. I've been to Compusmart on Yonge (didn't like it), and Norstar on Elm. Street (LOVE that store!)
I bought my iMac from Canadian Computer in Oakville. Great store too 
I'm wondering if there are any places in T.O. where I could pick up a refurbished iBook?

i dont know about refurbished, but i got mine at the UofT bookstore http://www.campuscomputershop.com/apple.asp
i just checked and dang, they dropped the prices even more since i got my ibook... if anyone wants an ibook, drop by there!

Two fantastic places along Dupont. At Bathurst: CPUsed (cpused.com), and a couple of blocks west, at Dupont & Christie: Carbon Computing (I think they're at carbonation.com). They're both good, but CPUsed is kind of famous for having lousy service. However, if you can just go in and say "I want that," without needing to ask questions, it should be okay (pathetic, eh?).
Carbon Computing is great. They're nice, know their stuff, and the prices are pretty good.
Both stores also have lots of used Macs; certain trolls will no doubt have a fit at the mere idea of a used Mac, but it might be worth considering.
You can walk up to Dupont from either Christie or Bathurst subway stations (there are frequent buses north from Bathurst).
I didn't know that store on Elm was still open! I thought it went out of business.
Did you hear the rumour that an actual official Apple store might be opening in Thornhill?

You might also want to try shops down in the "Camera District", as they sometimes carry Macs and might be having sales right now. Especially Vistek.

I bought my Nikon SLR from Vistek! That's a great store!
But now I'm selling it.

I'm from Ottawa, but I bought my G4 Tower from Carbon Computing in Toronto.

This guy is in the gto somewhere and he always has good deals on used machines and package deals. The guy is pretty hardcore and knows his stuff.
He is really lousy at replying to emails, though, so I'd suggest you call if you're interested in anything. You have to be persistent and don't expect that he'll get back to you, but his prices are good - all in $CDN on the website.

Well, I guess it's in fits and spurts. It's been hit and miss with me, though I think it may be because he had a terrible mail server for a long time and he kept losing mail. For a good while he even posted on the site to send mail to this or that account because one or the other was being dodgy. Great guy, though, and one to really help out a customer once you're talking to him.

MacDoc is lousy, I puchased 4 used computers from them this summer - I have never had worse service; I'll never spend another $ at Macdoc again.
On a positive note, I like the people at Redtag is Mississauga (now owned by CPUSED), Simmplys Mac (My neighbours son owns it) and the DV Shop at Dundas/Pacific in High Park... they are absolutely fantastic!
Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
