where do i put the cord

OK, I getting satelite internet on saturday, just in time for the keynote. I have a house full of converts so PCs wern't hard to find, adn I bought a XP copy so I could have a stable enviroment to hvae internet sharing on since  have to have the modem connect to the windows PC, ehh. I have one question though, I have about 10 computer to hook up to the connection wired and wireless, about 7 wired and the other 3 on airport base station(snow) which acts as the DHCP server. So, where to I plug the windows PC computer into the extra port for broudband on the AirPort base staion, or in to my belkin switch. Thanks for any help, death to dial-up.

Re: where do i put the cord

I'm sorry you are not getting the help you asked for, but I must confess that when I first read your post it sort of sounded like a joke.  eek You through around a few technical terms miss-spell/use others and generally sound very young. I would first ask, how you got involved in setting up such a network? I'm sure if you re-asked your question giving more details about the actual network and run/do a spell check on most of it, you would get a response from someone who has actually used Airport (unlike myself). You need to include more info on your Belkin device, like will it act as a DHCP server as well as the Airport base station? Then you might ask is there an issue with having two DHCP servers on the network (which I'm not sure about, but I don't think it's an issue as DSL modems and routers often both act as DHCP servers). You should also include more info about your satellite connection device like how many ports it has? Also, instead of "where do I put the cord" you may want to ask, "please help with network topology". My guess is, that your modem device should plug into your Belkin (If it's not just a "dumb" hub) switch, router from which you would then connect the Airport base station to. If your Belkin is not a switch/router device then I suggest you purchase one if you plan to connect that many computers.

Hope it works out for you. Enjoy the keynote!
