Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?
It changes from time to time, but my favourite Macintosh is usually whatever Macintosh I use immediately after using any Windows machine. Exactly like my favourite painkiller is whatever one I kicked in first after haemorrhoid surgery.
Patience is a virtue of the weak for it makes them stand still long enough for the strong to crush them with ease.

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?
I suppose my all-time favorite would be my Sawtooth G4/500. I've had it since it was brand new and it just keeps chugging along.
I started to replace it a while back, but thought better of it and added a processor upgrade and new video card. It's been such a great, stable workhorse, I guess I'll keep it till the day it finally decides it's had enough. On that sad day, I'll probably bury it out in the back yard and put a little headstone up for it.

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?
I have a G3 B&W and a LC 550....at first, long before I bought the G3, I scoffed at the design which I must have thought was dated because it was from Apple's colorful era, but once I started to consider buying it and stared at it for more than a moment and now that it's in my room watching me as I sleep, plotting, I think it's just awesome!

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?
I think my favorite Mac is always "the next one". I love how Apple keeps turning out amazing new stuff for us. But having said that. . .
My Power Mac 500 MHz Dual G4 has been a rock-solid performer for me. When I got it, it was my dream computer -- and it's still great, but . . . the fan noise is a bit annoying, and it doesn't have the *juice* to handle the very latest games smoothly. This is why I'm gazing into the future and thinking G5.
I'm also on the verge of breaking down and getting a used-or-refurb TiBook, if I can find one that doesn't cost too much. They are lovely gadgets. I would have to say these are the Macs that I admire most from a purely aesthetic standpoint.

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?
1st=My Beige G3 Tower. Original 300Mhz, now 917Mhz. The expandability and flexibility of this machine amazes me. Made in Oct 98, got it in Nov of that year I think. Been using it ever since. Havent had to buy a new machine yet either.
2nd=PowerMac 7600. My original dream computer years back. A relative of mine has one that is still going strong after all these years. Again like my Tower, its a very versitile lil computer. I got one for only $20 on ebay months ago too that im going to upgrade over time just for fun.

Re: What Was or is Your Favorite Macintosh Computer?
PM8500AV. It was the first machine that really got me going in the mac universe (yes I am a switcher). I had a quadra 700, but it died in painful fit of overclocking. No, you cannot get an '040 past 120MHz. At 100MHz 7.6 flew like wild b*tch.
The 8500 got me into video editing, and thanks to xpostfacto got me into is X.
Right now I have a beige tower. I really do love this machine. I don't even use my Athlon 2800 anymore. Not even for games. Why? I am too busy simply enjoying a computer that makes it fun to compute again. Like back in the days of 14.4 modems and BBS's. I loved using machines then, but over the years the passion has died.
My 8500 and more recently my beige tower have re-ignited it. I cannot wait to get home from and simply spend time with my machine. (Yes I know i'm pathetic).
Thank you Jobs and Wos for creating something that could truly be called a computer experience. Stupid me for spending 10+ years playing with the wrong computers.

It isn't a tower, but I always liked the G3 PowerBooks - I thought they were the best design to date.
As for towers, I really like my MMD G4, but then again I haven't had many desktop/towers.

The Mac SE baby...I had Cussing Tetris!...man, that was awsome...and not only did it say words that are quite hilarious when we were younger (and tito
) it would screw you over by having invisible blocks that would stop your pieces, and mock you as you played! Oh yeah, everything else was nice too.

The white iBook, one of which I'll probably pick up this week. I'm only getting the rev 1 500mhz model, but will be sure to overclock it, and give it a cool paint job, but the overall design is beautiful.
