For we n00bs...
...I didn't see anything like this in the sticky, so here goes:
*Is there any typed rules of protocol and mannerisms to go by? I know some stuff just makes sense (ix nay on laming, threatening, annoying behavior), but has anything been posted about it?
*What skins, levels, enhancements do we need to download so that we're ready to go on the server?
*If we want to contribute to the server, who do we make payment to? Is there an increased "status" for contributors?
finally
*Is the server listed as one of the available servers as you run JediKnightII MP?
Okay, I lied:
*How the heck do you make the best use out of this lightsaber? I know there's much more to just swinging it and throwing it... what other modifying buttons are there?

Everyone has their own saber styles. I have not even gotten into many of the special moves/etc. Really just try to balance your own style as best you can. If you want help figuring out what style you should be, i'd go a round with Bird sometime. He probably the noblest Jedi Knight in this division

I rely more on my throws than getting up close due to my higher ping.

Hi Jonathonwarden. I put a brief Q&A post on the Yahoo Group which address several of your Qs, but this is a bit more succinct.

Not anything official, but it looks like you already have a good understanding of "honorable actions" which is the basis we follow. I posted the following on the Yahoo site but thought to repeat it here.
*Anyone that has played JK2 MP has encountered a "lamer" at
one point or another. A lamer is someone who:
1. Doesn't bow before a duel
2. Waits for you to bow then strikes
3. Runs away or a

Skins are harder to get a handle on. I started placing some skins on the Yahoo Files section of the Yahoo group to give everyone access to in-use skins, but their have been no additions since my initial UL. Benwards and I use the Darth Vader skin, but typically people dl skins, install them, and never tell anyone which skin they

Apparently you weren't here for this thread, in which I gleaned the best quality skins from a few different sites and put them into one massive 115 MB archive.
Skins are NOT required to play, but I think it adds to the fun of the game to have some additional authentic Star Wars Universe skins to use.
That's a big help. I've downloaded about 5 different Mace Windu skins trying to figure out which one Bird was using and still haven't found the right one yet (and many don't work with others installed).
Also, this thread has a listing of similarly hand-picked duel maps and a 56 MB archive of them.
To my knowledge, Kamino is the only one being used on the server right now, but it might not even be the same one as there are several different versions floating around.
If you get the Kamino map from my post or Happypants post you'll have the right one for the MA server.
