music suggestions
I know I'm gonna start some huge stupid debate but i need suggestions:
what is good chilling music? I dont have much and I need some to A: blast out of dorm speakers B: study with C: walk to classes with.
You know the hole, the one you put the pie in?
My mean my pie-hole?
Yeah, shut it.

Re: music suggestions
for studying, go with wordless music you don't have to think much about. try classical, or some jazzy-techno music.

Re: music suggestions
Can't really blast chill music out of speakers but here goes:
A) Yo Yo Ma or the Amelie Sndtrack
B) Moby, Miles Davis (the chill stuff, not the early bop stuff)
C) Miles Davis, anyone who's worked with Davis, or A or B
however, not taking the chill part into consideration:
A) Andrew WK, Bon Jovi, Flogging Molly
B) Miles Davis, Amelie Sndtrack, other chill stuff
C) Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Green Day, etc.
And, as always from me, The Reverend Horton Heat plays a big part in the second list.

Chill music you can blast out the speakers: Dan Hicks

Re: music suggestions
Good one! There's also the 'strumental version.
I think 'chilling music' is quite open to interpretation, but I'd suggest Ben Lee, Beastie Boys' The in Sound from Way Out!, Death in Vegas or Endorphin.

A lot of Becoming X by the Sneaker Pimps is pretty chill too.

Sneaker Pimps, and lots of it.
I was just thinking that.
And right as I finished typing that, Post-Modern Sleaze came up on my iPod.

A. Five Iron Frenzy: The album "Upbeats & Beatdowns" and "FIF2: Electric Boogaloo" are superior to their other efforts, IMO. Avoid "Cheeses of Nazareth"; it's funny, but a n00b wouldn't get about 90% of the jokes (or understand what the hell they're saying...)
B. The Pillows and The Seatbelts.
C. I listen to the stuff from the original Matrix and the Animatrix soundtrack when walking between classes. Another favorite of mine is Deepspace5; most people I've met find these guys annoying, though.

Re: music suggestions
i'd go with Rage Against the Machine for blasting music. for chilling/blasting music, i think the coolest thing i've found is Holst's The Planets. especially Mars: The Bringer of War. it's the title track to EV: Nova, and it sounds great out of just about any pair of speakers at top volume.
oh, and Flogging Molly rocks hardcore.

All about the nipples.

What you see is not for real.
And Rush would've ruled if the lead singer wasn't falsetto gross.

Re: music suggestions
It's fun gauging people's reactions when you blast either Cannibal Corpse (extreme death/gore metal), Blind Gaurdian (awsome opera metal), or the Decendants (old school, crazy assed punk).

Re: music suggestions
I'm blasting Prodigy right now, but I do think it's a tad too early for Prodigy...
EDIT: I just thought of a good chill band, dunno if they're still around though: The Urge. Great stuff
