Your outrage is understandable..but however think about this;

#1. Who is actually gonna take this guy seriously?
#2. We aren't worried about people who are too dense to make good use of a Mac.
#3. If he wants a windows machine..so be it. Who are we to force feed someone a BMW, when they obviously can't see the value past a ford focus?
#4. If he is content with losing data on windows (which he stated he can get back in the dos promt) let him waste time doing that instead of working.
#5. He only did this cause he is Steve Ballmers nephew, and can get PCs for free.
#6. No matter what OS you run, the motto is SAVE, SAVE, SAVE.
#7. If for some reason he is actually having this many crashes....it would be wise for him to have the RAM checked out...and if it is found bad..then he should stop buying that stuff from Fry's.
#8. The mix of things that were said in there were OBVIOUSLY some true, some not...some not even pertaining to ANY VERSION OF MAC OS. (Uh, executables?) In OSX when you drag from one volume to another, zip, cd or otherwise..instantly copies it.

#13. Until us (yes, I said US.) Mac users stop being so RABID over stuff like this, then the windows users are gonna be able to get our goats. We have a superior product, we know this..so let them eat cake. I have built PCs for a living, owned PCs..and don't get  me wrong, they have their place..and Macs have theirs..it just that Macs are more times than not, in the hands of the educated, and those who want the best computing experiance, with the least amount of hassle. Macs are not for everyone, just as BMWs are not for everyone. I would wager that most people would like a Mac, but cannot justify a price for a REAL computer...they do not look at a computer as an investement for WORK..only a impulse buy to play games and to get things from kazaa. People in general don't like to be told they are wrong- and by jamming Macs down their throats and telling them in a snobby way that they are wrong and we are right..is going to turn LOTS of people away from Mac. I have sucessfully converted many a person and organization to Mac. I get their curiosity  up, and when they ask, not if they ask, but WHEN I help them "discover" how easy things are on a Mac...not to mention how many LESS Tech. people it takes to keep the whole place running pretty much hassle free.
#14. Wipe the drool from your face and move to the next post. We don't need to retaliate against anyone..laugh and let it go. Again, you know Apple offers a superior product..and if any particular person can't see that...then let them fester in their own for awhile..and when they ask you...help them discover how easy and hassle free a Mac can be.

i wasn't attempting to attack any one person in particular, nor was i saying that anyone in here isn't an intelligent person. if there was offense taken by any one person, i apologize. all i was attempting was a little perspective. actually, we do live in an oligarchy. in fact, its a plutocratic oligarchy.

however, my comment it would seem stands in reference to frankly. i was not attacking him(or her) when i posted that original message - but it would seem that anyone who takes that much offense to a posting by an anonymous someone on the boards needs to take a deep breath and relax. frankly, i apologize if you took my post as an attack on you personally. my post was nothing except a plea to the majority. it was a pleae against the kind of idiotic fanaticism that i always have thought we as a computing group have been fighting against since 1984.

and no, i don't think that someone who takes a few minutes to respond to a message on the boards is incapable of having their priorities are straight (i'm posting, aren't i?). I would simply caution anyone against taking anything too seriously. if you thought he was funny, great. if you thought he was dumb, fine. your opinion is certainly valid to you, and noted by me. however, the kind of vitriolic outpouring that we are witnessing is wasted upon the creator of that video and indeed the video itself. instead of retaliating aginst him, why can't you take those few minutes and try to change something that really matters.

this isn't such an outrage.  i mean he did name it "BITCH.mpg".  that's about as honest as anything i've ever seen.  clearly, he is a bitch.  a bitch for Windows.  maybe if he stops taking all those idiot pills . . . he'll stop being such an idiot.

OK, so someone spent a significant amount of time to make fun of a Macinstosh Computer!!!  What ever shall we do?  I am a long time Mac user, and  I have to say that this video was very well done.  If any of you out there can honestly say that you have never experienced what he is refering to, I envy you.  This was a very well produced, intelligent, funny piece of film work.  Anyone who takes this personally should really look at what a personal computer is, and realise that no one is attacking you, they are simply poking fun at an industry that has manipulated us to fight over brands, not purpose or functionality.  If Bill and Steve had a child, we would all be better off.  I Love Mac.  I have three of them, but I also have one Windows device.  I also have a Nokia, a few Sony's, four Panasonics, two Toshibas, three Canons, and a Terapin.  Relax, It'l work out in the end.

there are some legitimate gripes about the OLD Mac OS.  the most annoying:  dragging files from a cd onto your desktop which just creates shortcuts to the files but doesn't actually copy those files.  also, i know Apple has a reason for this but the fact that you have to drag discs to the TRASH just to get them to eject is kind of annoying.  i personally don't have a problem with this but i've seen several Windows users turn various shades of red when trying to retrieve a cd from a Mac.   still think the guy's taking idiot pills.  i mean . . . . i'm sure there are little quirks to a BMW or a Mercedez . . . BUT YOU'RE STILL DRIVING A BMW or MERCEDEZ!!!!!  you're doing better than most of the world.  quit your whinin'!!!

The main problem with your analysis is that this thread isn't about platform wars. It is about two things:

1) People pointing out what an idiot this guy is for doing a piss poor Sam Kinnison imitation because he made up almost every "problem" that he said he had with a Macintosh. People who actually know a little bit about computers (Macs and PCs) and have actually used them recently (in the past two years) know that the stuff he said was made up. Since he claimed that everything actually happened it ruined any chance he had of being funny. Period.

2) Us finding out that most people in here have a very bad sense of humor (those who actually found this guy funny). Again, there is a reason why there was only one Sam Kinnison. No one else could actually pull that off.
