Ordered a new 15" Powerbook today...
I am one of the crazed powerbook users that has been waiting for a revision. I had the 17" powerbook but found it a bit difficult to use on airplanes...and as I travel about 20 times per year...and many of those are to the other coast (Im near Apple Headquarters in Cupertino) I find that I use a laptop on planes alot. And as a nightmare user (I do video, photography, desktop publishing, game hard, yadda yadda yadda) I push laptops pretty hard.
I turned the 17 over to one of my employees a while back (making them an addicted switcher) and waited for the revisions...for 3 months. I thought they would replace the 15 much sooner...and over the 3 months I realized how much I use a laptop...for music and watching movies on plane rides alone it was a big loss.
Today I got up at 5am to see if the units were released. I was stoked to find the 1.25ghz unit with the Radeon 9600 and an 80 gig harddrive as a standard unit. The 2 gigs of ram was a sweet add too. It was the perfect unit at the perfect price. I called my CDW rep and he already had 100 units that arrived this morning and he had already sold 67 of them in the 3 hours that they had been in.
My unit will be here in about 12 hours. Ill give pics and a full report as soon as it gets here!!!!
God I love being a Mac Addict.

I didn't give it away Tito, I run a business. One of my employees needed one. And as I own the business, I still own the unit. Im just not using it.
My staff always starts the same way. "You want us to use a mac?" Then 30 days later..."Take 3 steps away from my Mac with your hands where I can see em....good...good...."
Gotta love making switchers...

Re: Ordered a new 15" Powerbook today...
This could go in a new thread but we will try it here first since it is along the same lines.
I have not ordered from Apple for a long time (freshman year, now in grad school) and was wondering if I could have the PB delivered to my girlfriend's parents' house. I'm usually not in my apartment during business hours and do not have a secure drop point. Someone is usually at my girlfriend's parents house to take the delivery.

As long as the billing address is the same as the credit card address, you can issue a different shipping address. This is something they do for people just in case you have multiple residencies. Like my credit card statement gets billed to my house in LA, but I am currently chilling at my pad in Lake Tahoe.
Man I wish I had that problem.
