iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
iDVD doesn't have that feature. You just get the one stereo audio track. (I'm not sure whether it is compressed Dolby Digital 2.0, or linear PCM.)
I'd hope that DVD Studio Pro has this feature, considering its price.

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
A workaround: If your video is short enough, you could include two versions of it on an iDVD disc. One version would have the normal soundtrack, the other would have the director's commentary.
Above the two versions you could set up a menu screen styled after typical DVD soundtrack menus.

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
...if I'm not mistaken iDVD is limited to one hour of video right?
Actually, iDVD can do 90 minute discs, too. When you put over 60 minutes on a disc, iDVD will ask you if you want to change the formatting to a 90 minute disc. The quality is a little lower, but it's still good! The only really annoying thing is you have to re-encode all the videos that have already been encoded, because you're changing the amount of compression. Good luck,

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
Will iDVD do the encoding for me? I'm not sure what you mean by me having to re-encode, I'd assume it would be something iDVD would do for you, but it would just take a while.
Yes, iDVD does the encoding for you. If you are using iDVD 3, you can view the progress of the encoding under the "Status" tab I believe... I can't tell you for sure because I am on a Superdrive-less PowerBook. Anyway, Yes, iDVD does it all automatically, so no worries. Hope that can help you get on with your workin.'

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
Question: What if you have a two hour project? Surely this can fit on a 4.7GB DVD somehow.

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
The 4.7GB DVDs can do two hour projects, but iDVD does not support it. Anyway, when the video is compressed for 2 hours on a 4.7 GB disc, it doesn't look so good.

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
Hm. I was just wondering because My eyeTV usually encodes video that can be read by a standard DVD player at the rate of... eh... to be safe, we'll say 1 hour per 700MB. If I could have a level of quality a notch higher than that, I'd be happy.
Of course to solve the problem without having to change anything... does anyone know if there are 9.4 GB DVD-Rs available? Are they even compatible with SuperDrive?

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
But eyeTV encodes as mpeg-1. DVD is mpeg-2. Time to graduate to DVD studio Pro 2.
Well, I'll be damned. It IS MPEG-1.
Time to rethink my coding strategies. So iDVD won't take MPEG-1 video, huh? Will DVD studio 2 allow you to use multiple formats?

Re: iDVD and multiple audio tracks.
The only problem is that DVD Studio Pro is harder to use than a 400 pound hat. You'd better be real savvy with the whole process.
