Error in X11

I have just about no knowledge of command-line suff, so please forgive me if there is an incredibly simple solution to my problem. That said, every time I try to run ./confugre in something I'm trying to install (GIMP, GTK, etc.) I get an error that says:

no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

Re: Error in X11

It means that it couldn't find any program to compile the things you're trying to instal.  Do you know if you installed the dev tools (if you don't know, you probably didn't)?
