OK, so it's been a couple of weeks since the old Sing Sing Sing thread ended and there's been no real "game" thread to take over yet, so here's the NEW AND REVAMPED version...


READ THESE RULES FIRST!!

Similar to the old song game thread, your intent is to link one song title to the next. However, in the old thread, people tended to just find a word in one title and pop another title which happened to have that word in it. Not this time, that was wayyyy too easy!! We need to challenge the old brain cells a bit more...

This time the primary rule is:

YOU CAN'T USE WORDS FOUND IN THE PREVIOUS SONG TITLE IN YOUR SUBMISSION.

The focus is going to be relating the THEME of the titles and you gets POINTS OFF for using the same words. You can either follow the obvious theme of the previous song or, much more fun and challenging, find an odd and bizzare twist on it. The challenge, this time around, is in the clever and hopefully entertaining twists and double-entendres.

EXAMPLE: A song like "Walking In The Rain" CANNOT be followed by another song with "walking" or "rain" in the title (we'll ignore common words like the, in, a, of, on, etc.). Your entry needs to be linked by the THEME of the previous song title. "Walking In The Rain" might lead to:
.........."Riders on the Storm" - theme: weather (an obvious theme).
Or it could perhaps be...
.........."Alone Again (Naturally)" - theme: loneliness (less obvious theme).
Or you might come up with some other totally off-the-wall read, as long as it actually fits.

We'll also ban the simple theme "love" since there are a bazzillion "love songs" which means there's really no challenge in that one. However, you can go with things like unrequited love, lost love, new love, etc..

This should make it a little more challenging and hopefully get some nifty creative thinking going here. It'll also mean this thread will be a little slower to flow than the previous but that's fine; getting more creativity will require a little more work but it'll be more fun.

Part of THIS game will also be that if you DO repeat the main words of the previous song title, others are then allowed to DISS YOU SEVERELY (all in good fun of course) for failing to follow this primary rule of the game. They can then ignore your entry and follow the entry before yours instead.

As with the previous game thread, there is a final cut off of 2000 posts at which point the game will come to an end and a Mod will lock it up. So post early, post often!

Suggested format: enter the song tile, (and if you want, artist) and, if it's not obvious, the THEME you are going with. The next poster can then either follow that theme or take it in a different direction entirely based on their own take of the title.

So, be creative and original, try to come up with interesting and/or quirky  themes that may not be immediately obvious in the previous title. And of course, have fun with it!
