Did anyone else notice this? "The school gets one to five cheese thefts a week and this is how we plan to continue dealing with the problem."
Okay. $396 * 5 every week to teach those damn kids that they're costing themselves $1.25 in books every week. Oh, wait...
Sounds like a case of Administratus Assholius to me.
I think that for $1.25 the school can figure out how to handle it on their own. The courts shouldn't even be entertaining this. The school has enough deterrent power on their own not to get taxpayers involved like this.
What's next? Pay a guy $10/hr as cheese security? For a quarter, I think a detention would suffice.

A stop sign. I know people who've done it and I know people have gotten arrested for it. It's such a stupid thing to take for how much trouble you can get into for stealing it.

A stop sign. I know people who've done it and I know people have gotten arrested for it. It's such a stupid thing to take for how much trouble you can get into for stealing it.
There was that thing in the news about the kids that stole a stop sign and where charged with murder when some peeps died cause it wasn't there.

A cop car. And yes, a guy here did that a couple of weeks ago.
Something like this happened here (Las Vegas) last week (may have been two weeks ago... time is starting to melt together for me). Guy carjacked a person's car, left it at a local (off-strip) casino and carjacked another car... Police K9 units (two of them) gave chase and forced the guy to stop. During the ensuing shootout the perp somehow managed to get into one of the K9 unit's Ford Explosion (or whatever model it was) and took off with it. (other) Cops eventually forced the guy to a stop, at which point another gun battle erupted, culminating in the death of the perp and the death of the police dog in the car.
Sad about the dog. Funny about the perp.

My suggestion is stealing a whole roll of subway club stamps.
I generally get around 6 stamps every time I visit Subway. Which is frequently.

I think it'd be pretty stupid to steal an iPod.
Think about it:
Officer: Are you sure this person has your MP3 player?
Victim: Yessir, officer, that man stole my iPod!
Officer: Before we bring it out, is there anyway you can verify that this is your MP3 player, after all, they wiped the hard drive clean and scratched out the serial number...
Victim: Of course! On the top there's a ding where I dropped it while in San Diego, then there's a scratch on IT'S right side from when I scraped it on the rocks at Rock City U.S.A. in Chattanooga, TN. Plus, here's my photo album of it... isn't she cute?

I was thinking it would be dumb because they could use it for a few hours but unless they steal the cables and the ac converter then its not like they can recharge it.
Oh, a guy I know stole a hole smurfload of clothes, and not a single peice fit him.

i think the dumbest thing i heard of was a stolen identity case. the guy stole the identity of a known high-felony child molester....
needless to say that left a bit of a trail.
