PowerCentre Pro 210

It does not read CD, I know the CD rom works, because I can start the computer with a Start UP CD. I tried Systems 8.6 and 9.1 and it wont read, I tried to update to System 9.2.2 and it tells me that it can not update the computer, and to see my documentation.

Any suggestions?

Re: PowerCentre Pro 210

This is getting to be a common thread topic under many names.  As long as you have 9.1 installed or a 9.1 install disk, you should be able to use a helper app called OS 9 Helper.  Just click that link and it will take you to their site and all the info.

9.2 isn't supported on machines that shipped with processors older than the G3.

Unsupported by Apple, but not impossible.

From the OS 9 Helper app site:

What does OS9 Helper do?

OS9 Helper allows you to install 9.2.1 or 9.2.2 on certain "Old World" Macs that Apple has decided to drop support for. OS 9.1 is the final version that Apple allows to install on anything previous to the Beige G3.

If you click the link in my previous post, there is a link on that page that has the Compatablility Chart on what the software works with, including some some of the "Clones" by Umax, Starmax, and PowerComputing.

Oh.  I guess I should have followed your link.  The only solution to installing anything above 9.1 that I knew about was XPostFacto.

It has a G3 450 upgrade card, and it's working ok.
