But hey... nothing can beat when the Dukes were replaced by their "cousins" that one season.

The old Laurie had a role on that short-lived A.U.S.A show with what's his face . . . Jennfier Garner's ex-husband . . . is that why she left?

As I remember it, Old Laurie developed a wild drug habit (coke? crack? heroin?) and became almost impossible to work with. So, they showed her the door.

I was wondering the same thing. It isn't so odd that she would develop some habits, but it's odd that they actually did something about it. I read somewhere that Debra Messing (Will & Grace) was almost showed the door because of her smoking. They had to stop shooting a couple times because of her coughing attacks. Come on people. When it sounds like you're going to cough up a lung, it may be time to quit smoking.

I would be willing to bet that Debra Messing won't quit because she believes it helps her to stay thin.

Speaking of thin, did anyone see that anoxeric woman, the gal who used to be a tv reporter? She appeared on both Maury Povitch's show as well as Entertainment Tonight? She is a sad and very frightening sight.

I liked the old Laurie, but I'm glad she was let go . . . I mean, she's an actor paid to do a job, and anyone else who showed up to work slung out on crack would also be fired.
