[song request] by lyric.
What's that damn song, that everyone uses in commercials, etc. I only remember the following lyrics, but I think it's safe to say these are the lyrics that everyone knows the song by:
hey look, what's that sound, everybody look what's going down.
I think that's it anyway. May be a little off, but something along those lines.
Thanks in advance

Nah, it's something super-80's. I would be able to confirm it if I heard the group, but I cannot name it off the top of my head.
Vh1 was using this song for their promos in the summertime I think.

p.s. this is the only song i came up with as well.

Re: [song request] by lyric.
at least two songs i know of sampled the original buffalo springfield hit.
Skee-Lo's "I Wish"
and
Public Enemy's "He Got Game"
I'm not sure if they are what you're looking for, but I hope it helps.

If you do a search on the amazon.com music section you can listen to a sample.

Isn't skee-lo i wish something like
i wish i was taller
i wish i was a baller
and had a phone to call her
or something? I remember that song to be the stupidest piece of recorded music in the history of the world.

Yea, but that's not the song I'm talking about. I still want to know what the hell that eighties song is. It's killing me over here.

Re: [song request] by lyric.
Yellowpunk could be looking for a remake of "For What It's Worth" which is why he believes it is an 80's tune. For a long time I thought Van Halen actually wrote Dancing in the Streets. All depends on which version you hear first.
Try searching Limewire or Kazaa and see if you find someone other than Buffalo Springfield or Crosby Stills Nash and Young who might be doing the 80's version you have heard. BUT DON'T DOWLOAD IT!!! iTunes has a regae version by Dennis Brown, what sound like a gospel version by the Staple Singers and another version by Brasil 66 & Sergio Mendes.
Anyway, I have been looking for a song that I once heard/saw the video but I can't remember who the singer is or the song title. The song is sung by a beautiful young black woman and she is singing something like "bring on the men" or "Calling all men." Her image gets projected all over the place and the men stop what they are doing and turn to look at her singing. She is slowly hitting a drum as a sort of way to "call all men." Does anyone know this song and who it is by.

Okay, Get a Move On is definatley the Lincoln Towncar commecrial's song. However, this gets me no closer to what I'm looking for.
I read the lyrics, and it seems that the song I speak of may be a remake of this one. However, it's mostly electronica, and /very/ eighties style. The song, cover, remake, etc. was defiatley made in this pink+blue+green era.

Re: [song request] by lyric.
Okay, I have just listened to the samples (I didn't see them there before??) and the song is definatley a take off of For What it's Worth, by Buffalo Springfield. However, the song is very 80s-style. Probably made during that - unfortunate - time period.
Thanks all already, and more people are welcome to post answers!

Re: [song request] by lyric.
I'm obviously coming in on this a little late, but if you ever have any other song lyric needs try www.leoslyrics.com. They have every song I've ever looked for there, and you can search for one based on lyrics in the song. Unfortunatly, they are down more than other websites.

Wow, I really cannot believe that no one knows this. I assumed that most would know what I'm talking about, and some would know the group+songname, but most people don't even have a clue. (I'm not talking about the original, everyone picked up on that one.)
Well, as someone said on these boards, you know what they say about assumptions...

Re: [song request] by lyric.
It's been covered by:
Link 80
Holly & The Italians
Sex Mob
Cher
Muppets
Reputation
Oui 3
Billy Idol
Public Enemy
Dee Carstensen
Candyskins
It's probably one of those. Most likely the Muppets cover.

Re: [song request] by lyric.
The thing is that it's not a cover, per-se, but more of a sample. The song itself is more or less original, but only the chorus is copied... I think changed a little as well.
