I wanted to like Voyager. They got the premise right (yes, I know it's the same premise as Lost In Space). I was so hoping that there wouldn't be a holodeck...

The only two series I really liked where DS9 and Star Trek. TNG was too bland and too preachy, Voyager had an awsome concept but they smurfed it up and it became a TNG clone, and Ent, just isn't Star Trek. Its dumbed down for the people who watch Joe Schmoe because they think it's intelligent.

You know it's one thing to not like a tv show and it's another to call folks idiots. There's a lot of smart people who were inspired by StarTrek and some of those folks were involved in getting us to the moon.
It's better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

Babylon 5 kicks ass over every incarnation of Star Trek.
Someone should let Spike TV know that Star Trek is lame and replace it with a re-run of Babylon 5.

And about the TV series? Tried watching Enterprise, bored. The Next Generation? Tried watching it one or twice, I don't know. Maybe it's me because I just wasn't feeling it. I have to admit I was a little bored. DS9? Never watched it. If it repeats were shown on another yes I would watch it and see what's it like. The Original and Voyager? Loved them both.

Some people "get it" when it comes to Star Trek, and some people will simply never understand. Arguably, the most annoying people are the ones who confuse Star Trek, with Star wars. (I'll bet some of you know at least one such person)
It's interesting, but when TNG went on the air, the "Hard Liners", the ones who swore it would never work, were cheesed off big time when it lasted seven seasons, and proved to be a better show then the orginal series. Granted, the orginal series set the ground work for a lot of things. (And you just gotta love those mini-skirt uniforms!)
I don't much care for "The simpsons", or anything to to with "Lord of The Rings", but I don't feel that people who watch these and enjoy them are retarded idiots. I don't "Get" the whole LOTR thing, but if you enjoy it, more power to you.
A lot of bright, well-educated people enjoy Star Trek, including Doctors, Engineers, and scientists.
A "Trekkor" may be your boss some day Ocean Size, especially if you work in technology, so beware.
I will say that I am disappointed in "Enterprise" though. I don't expect it to last beyond this season.
It's too bad, because it was a good idea. Also, there are not nearly as many Star Trek conventions as there used to be, but I think this is due to changing demographics, and people "watching their wallets", more than anything.

The Simpsons has to be one of the only shows I can watch with my younger brother because he thinks the cartoon itself is funny, while I mostly understand what they're talking about...
On topic:
I don't mind watching Star Trek, but i'm not religious about it either.

Best comedy I've ever heard.
I enjoy watching TNG, DS9, Voyager, but not the original or Enterprise. And, from what I remember about Babylon 5, it sucked. Very very much.
