since when does playing fast mean good?
tito
I didn't say playing fast meant good. I found his creativity to be impressive.

Re: You good at Guitar?
I'm no guitar expert, but I've never seen his style before. It was fun to watch someone with talent play with... talent. and style.
that is all

Re: You good at Guitar?
If you like him, check out Stanley Jordan. He's about as fluent as anyone I've seen at overhand tapping, and he was doing it in the early 80s. He can walk bass lines and play chords in his left hand and play killer solos with his right hand. I don't care for his music much, but if you ever get a chance to see a video of him, it's mind-boggling.
And of course, Victor Wooten will do all that and more on the bass.
I believe in Karma. That means I can do bad things to people all day long and I assume they deserve it.

Victor Wooten is pretty smooth on the bass. And when I say pretty smooth, I mean freakin' awesome!

If you like blazing fast guitar that's more than just blather, check out Steve Vai. He's got a whole lot of musical knowledge in his head, and it shows.
I still like Jeff Beck best of all, though. I really miss SRV, too.
Hey!!! Was that Pithy? Got a twenty?

Re: You good at Guitar?
My fingers are too fat to play guitar.

I used to play Bass a bit, though.
I have been playing guitar for about a year now, picked up an electric bass yesterday and knew it as well as I did guitar.

Re: You good at Guitar?
I am pretty good at guitar, been playing 2 years, have an Ibanez S470, Gibson SG, and Ovation Celebrity Deluxe.
That dude is nothing compared to Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, or Eric Johnson.

Man... some of the two-handed tapping stuff he was doing sounded amazing. Playing stuff like that is damn hard on an acoustic.
That guy got into some stupid wank moments, but he did some awesome stuff. Cool video.

Re: You good at Guitar?
I'm trying to learn guitar. I bought a cheap Fender for $150 canadian to learn on. I'll figure it out eventually
Johnny Ramone never did, and he had a rock career for 25 years.
But he knew 3 chords, didn't he?

Re: You good at Guitar?
I can do the part where you smash the guitar on the stage pretty good.
It's the rest of the whole "guitar player" bit I can't quite seem to master.
Maybe because I smash all my guitars mastering the first bit.
