has anyone seen the changes theyve made? its slower, and you cant see if you have any new general emails unless you goto your inbox

why couldnt MS leave hotmail alone? i really liked it when i logged in, and it took me directly to my inbox..espeically when i was on dialup.

I haven't noticed a slowdown but yes I miss the hotmail of old. Simple and it worked.

Now it appears to just be a portal for MSN.

Yeah hotmail sucks. It got the regular Microsoft treatment. Let's add more features, lets fix what's not broken in the process!

BULL! I hate it *calls fire out of the sky to flame* BURN! The old was nice and simple to use. Everything worked fine untill wham, someone slapped me and I couldn't find anything for a while. BURN! twisted

I had a Hotmail account for years (2 actually) that I had since before microsoft bought, back when it was a super fast excellent service.
Then in moved MS and I watched as it just degraded by inches till finaly about 2 years ago I couldent handle it anymore and abandoned it.
It sucked to have to get all my email friends and contacts switched over to my new account. Takes along time to migrate from an E-mail address that had been stable for over 5 years.

You use a Mac and you use Hotmail? For shame. When they sold my name out 2 years ago and I got 250+ spams a day, I said "no thanks". That was when I was still rocking the ol' home-built PC... another nightmare. Computer = rock solid. XP on the other hand... grrrrrr. mad
Web-based email, Yahoo has done me no wrong.

Keep in mind with all this Hotmail bashing that's going on, that it is a FREE service. Yes Hotmail sucks. But it's also free. So the price you pay for that free service is whatever crap that comes along with it. There are dozens of free email service providers that are better than Hotmail.

Bash away...

Just read the documentation carefully. It works flawlessly for me.

Yep, I use .mac as my main away from work account now, but I still use my yahoo account, I always loved it. It is the free service I recommend to anyone that asks. Sad to say though, it has been relegated to my 'sign up for smurf' email address now.

Yea, i has hotmail well before MS bought it. its my first, and still only personaly email address. I get mor ejunk than anything, but i have enough random emails that come up that i need to get

I really need to send an email to all my contacts that I'm now using .mac as my main email and then kill my Hotmail account.

but on the main page it doesnt tell you how many new emails you have..just how many are iny our junk folder and how many are from people you designaed in your contact list. which is about zero, because i dont trust thier spam filter, and i dont have people added to my special contact list..so i have to goto my inbox to see if i have new mail..

its just stupidly annoying to overlook that..

Web-based email, Yahoo has done me no wrong.

Just be glad you don't have to use msn. If you live in Canada you need hotmail to telk to your friends. No-one uses AIM up here.
