Re: WinXP verbose option

I've not used the Win32 version of SETI@Home but in both OS/2 and MacOS X I believe you have to type out the full word. I.E.:

setiathome -verbose<return>

You might give that a try.

Re: WinXP verbose option

Right, I have done that before on a Windows ME machine, but the DOS shortcut seems different this time.  Basically I want to make the shortcut contain the script so that it is always in verbose mode.

Re: WinXP verbose option

Just add the tag to the pathname in the shorcut properties menu. (right-click the shortcut, select properties.) So my "Target" would read:

"E:\SETI\setiathome_blah_blah.exe -verbose"

I think in windows, the prompt often uses slashes instead of hyphens, so it might be "/verbose" instead of "-verbose" but I'm not sure. Try both?

I'm trying that...

"E:\SETI\setiathome_blah_blah.exe -verbose"

It's saying that it's not a valid path.  I've tried with the"/" and the"-" and even a "~".

Okay, now I have it.  It should read more like this...

"E:\SETI\setiathome_blah_blah.exe" -verbose

That's with Windows ME.  I haven't been back to work to try it on that machine.  That should be on Monday.

Re: WinXP verbose option

That should work. Cool.

Sorry, I was at work myself, but there's little point to installing SETI on a PII450 print server that is constantly being remotely monitored by the powers-that-be. So I couldn't double-check my settings from home, but I thunked that I remembered.

Good luck.
