I have heard the occasional remour every now and then about a Mac version of Kazar being developed? Does any one no any information about this? Kazar is the best ever P2P program in existance - only prob is I am stuck with Limewire ! mad

Kazaa = The evil (if there is one).....

If you want adds scrolling up and down your screen and voices telling you to buy $.49 DVD's at night (I'm not making this up), Kazaa is for you. Plus there's a lot of files on Kazaa, but they are %60 labelled the wrong thing. My friend tried to DL jackass 6 times and he got a different movie each time....

A. Neo (find it at versiontracker.com) is the only Kazaa client for Mac right now.
B. Acquisition is a Gnutella client, it searches the same network as Limewire.

Warning: Kazaa uses "resources" not being used by your computer... meaning they store files and have the right to even use your processor and read things off your HD based upon what you are agreeing on in the EULA.

Plus there are easy way's to get to people's HD contents when using the program. It's the biggest security-hole/trojin I know of.

That said, Neo is your only choice. Which is not kazaa.

If you are using Windows or are running VirtualPC then run a google search for "Kazaa Lite" or was it "Kazaa Light"? Anyway, it has all the files of Kazaa, but has all the spyware hax0red out.

Well, I real Kazaa client would have more files than both of those combined and would have more reliable downloads than Acquisiton. Kazaa is actually a pretty decent program if you have the spyware hax0red out.

Ive always had good luck with Acquisition in particular... the secret is to search once you have connected to all 20 networks, not before... smile

I am definitely not eager for Kazaa to be ported to the Mac. It's an overrated piece of crap. Even LimeWire is better, if you ask me.

Limewire is a piece of crap. Acquisition works pretty well. Neither of them work as good as Kazaa...

How had I never heard of these? I mean I guess I never researched it, so that is probably the answer, I was content to use LimeWire and hate it. The uniformed shopper, as I ashamedly admit to in this case, is what keeps businesses like the one that runs LimeWire in business (not that I ever paid for that POS)...

Anyway...

Anywho, Kazaa is terrible. Files are always mislabled and its trojan heaven. Pretty sure they also said they have no interest in porting.

You could always try Direct Connect (which just got ported).

LOL, not yet, but the movie opens on Friday, surely bootlegs will not be far behind (not that I can condone the partaking in one of these!).

Also, agreed, my roomie has Kazaa, it seems to be over rated from our experience with it...

I have a Dell and a Mac and use limewire on both ....I do have Kazza lite installed on the Dell but find 60% of the files that you download are mislabeled or corupt...Just my .02 big_smile

Maybe it's just the files I was downloading off of Kazaa. Maybe otaku don't put trojans in fansubs and J-Pop MP3s, but then again, maybe I was just smart enough to not download all the *.avi.vbs and *.avi.exe files...

they all suck, napster was the king (for music at least)
kazaa is overrated man! i have it on my (dirty) PC and although it finds more results when doing searches than Limewire for my mac most files dont download or are mislabeled and (i'm sure) full of viri. aquisision is faster than the hog that limewire is but it has trouble connecting to networks, i only get like 2! (somebody mentioned 20, wtf!?!?) for *files* ahem cool i find ircle works the best: u get full speed of ur connection and the interface is faster (but ugly). oh yeah neo blows..well at least it did..havent tried it in a while...

Kazaa is awful... I used it for a while pn my PC and ultimately dumped it. Limewire still seems to be a good way to go since it appears to lack any of the pop-up spyware bull crap that Kazaa employs.

Avoid Kazaa at all costs.

download direct connect, and find a hub with stuff you like.
i found a great indie music hub on there, so i'm happy.

Kazaa is worthy only to be put on a PC. It is FULL of spyware and crap. I would never put trash like that on my mac. I put it on the PC though... cause who cares about that... wink
