What's the IP address? Curious, so that I'll have it for when my stuff is in order.

Everything you need and want to know
Well, Cee it's not a packed house right now. Doc and I were on around 6PM your time. I would've, could've stayed, but Doc left me early and I decided to tweak my machine and UT2003 some more. Glad I did too, now we're b!tchin'. Ok, not really, I am happier with some of new .ini settings.

Wait a min.... you're a UT vet. It's the same way. You put the correct files in the correct folders. Now the folders are in the package, gotta open up the UT2K3 package.

Re: Levi's Server
The way I installed the packages was Control Click the UT2k3 icon to get submenus, and click "show package content". Is that the same thing that you're describing Levi?

There are several good locations to get the maps: Nali City, Unreal Play Ground, UT2003 HQ and UT2003 FIles. The one that you'll have trouble finding is BR-Magma it's a custom remake of CTF-Magma as a BR map. I'll drop it here for you.
As to where you put all this stuff: There are two places that work
1. Control-click (right-click) on UT2K3 and select Show Package Contents. You'll then see a window with a bunch of folders which will look like your UT99 folder

Re: Levi's Server
No, Mr. Cig. There are two ways to install third party maps, sounds, music, etc. The method you described is the one I use: Ctl - Clicking on the app icon, and choosing Show Package Contents. This will open up a window that will reveal the Maps, Textures, Music, etc. folders.
Levi describes an alternate method that also works (only if your game is installed on the OS X System partition). In your User's Library > Applications Support > Unreal Tournament 2003 folder you can create new folders that can hold new Maps, Animations, Music, etc.
The above way is neater since all of your new third party maps will be kept seperate from the stock maps, should you ever need to reinstall.
Your User's Library > Applications Support > Unreal Tournament 2003 folder is a folder you should know about; it's where you'll find your System folder which contains your UT2003.ini and User.ini (and Screenshots), so it's important.
Definitely pick up DocB's Terminal scripts here (the link is in the first post):
CleanCache
It has two scripts that run on a double click. "CleanCache.command" will convert and name all the cached downloaded UT content from servers you've visited, and name them with the appropriate map names, etc. The other "MakeDirs.command" script will set up your Library > Applications Support > Unreal Tournament 2003 with the appropriately named folders to place your third party maps, etc. in. It merely saves you the trouble of having to create and name 6 new folders in your App. Support UT2k3 folder:
Animations
Maps
Music
Sounds
StaticMeshes
Textures
Thanks again for those scripts Doc!

Re: Levi's Server
Yeah Brain. I was playing around with Doc's script and noticed it created the same files in the dir you described. So you're suggesting that one copies or MOVES the data to the users lib/app supp/ut2k3 folder? Will UT2k3 automatically know to look elsewhere when said data is moved? Also, are there some ini tweaks that you guys suggest?

Re: Levi's Server
UT2K3 will find the Maps and their associated files in ~/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003/<folders>. The things that can be tricky are the mods (.u files

Ah Ha! Figured something like that. Cee, as you get more time in with 2K3 would be very interested in knowing your crash experiemce with the game. Last night I think it crashed about 3-4 times but I also had a poorer than usual connection for some reason.

Cee that is the whole reason I've posted the map list. The Ol' gal isn't the best at multi-tasking. You would be better served to print out the map list and download them. And the redirect is a public one so I can't be sure it had everything or the reliability of it.

Re: Levi's Server
??? Are we talking about the same link? >>> http://ut2k3maps.gaming.stny.com/maps/
If we are, the files are in UZ2 format which is a compressed format for redirect dling. Though ucc-bin is included in the System and can be run in the Terminal as far as I can figure out you can't use it to decompress these files. I really don't know.
When I right click on one of the files I see the contextual menu with:
Open Link in New Window
Open Link in New Tab
Download Link to Disk <<<< What you want
Copy Link to Clipboard
Add Link to Bookmarks
If you just click on the file you get a screen full ASCII. I think you can actually save that as well.

Re: Levi's Server
OK. Got it figured out. In Unreal Tournament 2003.app in the System folder there is an executable called ucc-bin. This is the ucc compression/decompression program for UT. The easiest way to use it is
1. Open a Terminal window
2. Show Package Contents on Unreal Tournament 2003.app
3. Open the System folder in UT2K3.app and find ucc-bin
4. Drag ucc-bin to the Terminal window which gives you the path to the command
5. In the Terminal window right after the "ucc-bin " type "decompress "
6. Drag the .uz2 file you want to decompress to the Terminal window and hit return
7. The decompressed file will be placed in your ~/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003/System folder. Since I had the .uz2 file on my Desktop a Users/<my user name>/Desktop/<uncompressed file> was created in the System folder.
There you go.
