The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

Since this kind of got spread over at least two threads I decided to put it all here.

This AM I sent Tiago this email

Are we still on for December 20? My guys are all up for it. In your original post you spoke of 2 maps each of CTF, TDM and BR. How about adding 2 maps of DOM as well? Total of eight maps. I thought no score limit with a 15 min. time limit. Again if you think that might be too long a game time we can set score limits as well.

As to location from what little time I was able to spend on your server it looks like it gives the best pings. We would be happy to play on your server if it is OK with you.

Time wise there we might have to deal. We know that many of your team are across the pond so I'd like to hear some times you are comfortable with and we can work it out.

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

OK. Just got this from Tiago

Hello Dennis,

Im very sorry for this long silence but I've been really busy at the office and didnt had time at all to continue on the organization of your "Christmas Match".

We are all confirmed for the 20th of December. I think that the best time would be 11PM GMT since we can gather more members from our side. 5 vs 5 is a possibility but as you know we are currently 28 members. Of course that some are inactive, but i think that i can gather for the game around half of that. If we could arrange it to be 6 vs 6 it would be perfect!

I totally agree with you with 2 games of DOM. Thats a perfect combination.

Yeah, our server seems perfect for all of us! smile

We have to meet on iChat so we can set up the maps that we will use and define some other things. I hope to see you there as soon as possible! smile

Regards,

Tiago Carvalho

So if my time zone math is correct 11PM GMT = 6 PM EST

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

Saturday the 20th at 6 PM works for me.  I've added it to iCal.  Speaking of calendars, shall I make an online calendar thingy for us to use so we can keep track of matches and practices?  I'd be more than happy to.

Oh, and could we by any chance add Tokara Forest for TDM?  I looooove that map.  big_smile

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

Since we are now talking a 6 v 6 my choices would be CTF-Orbital2, DM-TokaraForest (big map for big TDM

I'm there. What is the EST time? I don't have a GMT converter handy.

EST = GMT - 5 so right now it's 18:35 GMT - 5 = 13:35 EST

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

Perhaps we should use Taxx's beats program.  1000 beats in a day, same beat time everywhere in the world.  It's @832 right now.  It goes in the menubar and you can stick it right next to the clock.

iBeatTime from eDot Studios.

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

OK. Had a meeting with Tiago and here is what was decided.
Game time Saturday 20 December at 11:00 PM GMT which is 6:00 PM EST. The rest of the time zones you figure out from there. The match will be on the [G5] computer 138.67.4.145. The plan is for 6 v 6. If we have more than 6 we will rotate. All standard maps and mods. TL on for all but TDM. The maps:
[MA] chose:
CTF-Orbital2
DM-TokaraForest
BR-IceFields
DOM-SepukkuGorge
[G5] chose:
CTF-Citadel or CTF-Chrome < T to pin this down
DM-Antalus
BR-Anubis
DOM-Junkyard

OK guys. Step right up. Let's firm up the roster. Also we need to practice those maps.

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

Looks good, time is a little off, but I'll make it work. Now we have 8 maps picked we need a tie breaker. I think that if G5 gets home field we should get to pick the final game type and map. Doc run it by them.

So Far the Ins (going by first come first serve):
Levi
Doc
Brain
Dan

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

Well we need at least 6 warm bodies (that's bodies not boties).

I'll run the tie breaker idea past Tiago, but if I play like I did tonight that may be wishful thinking. Oh well... got a whole week to regain my former glory.

Wang, if you can't join at 6 EST and we don't come up with 6 perhaps you could join later. The plan is for 15 min/map with no score limit so 15 x 8 = 2 hours (not counting breaks and glitches).

OK. Now we need:
1. Committed roster of players
2. Maps to play

Warm body reporting for fragging. I'm not that good either, Cee, as Doc and Levi will testify.

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

I'm planning on picking up 2k3 either tomorrow or Tuesday. I know, I know, I always talk about how much it sucks, but for twenty bucks, I figure why not. However, I work on Saturdays until 7, and then go out and do stuff afterwards so I don't think I'll be able to make the match. Too bad it wasn't scheduled for a Sunday...

Re: The NEW consolidated [MA] v [G5] thread

I might have to pick this up, only since UT'99 is dead, but even if I did pick it up today I would not be ready for a match on the 20'th. Good luck though!
