OK. First real topic... command line stuff

The first real topic of the new Halo forum cheers

I gather there is a command line interface to Halo though I haven't gotten that far with it yet. Does anybody know a reference to this (i.e. the commands and what they do)?

Again

I dunno how it works with Mac Halo, but for PC you type in "-console" at the end of the location thing after getting properties on an alias of it.
Tilde brings it up in-game, and then you can type in useful stuff like "rasterizer_fps 1" to show the frame counter.

Re: OK. First real topic... command line stuff

when halo starts up (assuming you haven't already disabled it) an option box pops up, including the option to have the console... other than that the only console thingy i know is the "rasterizer_fps on" or "off" command. i assume there's others along similar lines (rasterizer_vidrestart? etc) but i haven't been able to find a command list from inside the game yet.

Did a Google search on "Halo commands" and found this. Don't know yet what may or may not be useful in Mac Halo.

I checked the main [MA] thread but there was no announcment on joining.  How can I join the clan?  I realize it's a silly question, but I'm not a bad player... at least I think so

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

modesty is indeed a virtue; that having been said, i've assumed from previous threads that you just have to express an interest at this point, and not be a jackass... that'll probably change once we set into motion the global cookie heist, but you "seem" like a cool enough person. you're literate, you have at least a basic knowledge of classic literature, and you're not prone to throwing four letter words in for "dramatic effect".

in other words, i have no friggin idea, i just put the [MA] tag in front and called it good!  big_smile

Jeez! What about the ritual sacrifice, the hazing, the nude... never mind.

The way [MA] has always worked is you show up, announce your intention to join, contribute to the discussions on the forum, play some games online with other [MA]ers (therefore the tag to identify you) and have fun. If you are not a jerk you won't be ignored (notice the button in the upper right corner of the posts) and you will have fun. big_smile

Re: OK. First real topic... command line stuff

just something i found out by playing with the info here.

after you enable allow console, during the game hit tilde to bring up the console.  if you hit tab it will show you a list of commands.
