Private strategy forum
Just out of curiosity...do we expect to be playing matches frequently? We might want a private forum where we can strategize if such is the case. Just a two cent thought from your friendly neighborhood Dan.

I can stick one up over at AtAT, as long as that's not spamming or whatever. If that's cool with the powers that be. 
Then again, we really have no idea how often we'll be playing matches. We might do just as well strategizing in IRC or AIM.

As I noticed last night, . Is it possible to do a multi-directional audio chat with iChat? Roger Wilco has not been updated for a move to OS X, and I don't think it ever will be.

Well, basically my idea was what the squads've got -- a hidden, members-only forum that they can use for themselves. Make it accessible by a certain [MA]UT2K3 usergroup, and then allow the group moderator only to invite people into the group (so we don't have to find an administrator to grant individual access). I volunteer Levi for that job

nope. if you have two buddies ichatting with each other, you'll see the audio/video chat options next to their name greyed out.

Hmmmm, I'm loathe to create a new forum for each game for strategy. That would add seven new forums. Perhaps just one hidden forum for clan members would be enough?

You could, but:
a) most people would have to register usernames for it. Not very convenient
b) ezBoard is an adiministrator's nightmare
c) Pay for it or you get pop up ads. Among other things.
d) Why try to get something outside of MAF when it can integrated right into it?

An idea that will probably never work just struck me: what about a dedicated Clan MacAddict board over at clanmacaddict.com? I think I better not push it.

You're not alone Dan. When we had another gripe about all the game forums, I thought the same thing. Pack our bags and go live at the dedicated web site.
I agree we do need a private place to post. I don't know if it needs to be here. Maybe a UT2K3 mailing list and we do it via emails. For live stuff I'd stick with #clanma, at least until it gets more populated. Once that happens we could move to a different channel. I know #ma-x has nobody ever in it anymore. /me hijacks #ma-x from Groid 
I don't want to be a burden to anyone. If it is easy to set up a user group, then just make the forum hidden. I'm game for that. Then we do a weekly or monthly user update (additions and removals).
One thousand years are burned everytime 10 million play WoW for an hour.
