Halo system requirements...
I don't understand the Halo system requirements, it was meant to come out 2 years ago on mac and my computer was a very good one back then. Now I can't even run it with full graphics.

Re: Halo system requirements...
microsoft didnt want mac people to have a game that was better than any game a PC has, so microsoft simply bought bungie so they couldent. now the PC had it before the mac people have it.
its all about the money.

in all seriousness, however, most of the problem's i've encountered with halo have been faults with nvidia's sh*tty as hell drivers. how the hell can my geforce 4 ti 4600, with 128 mb of vram, only do what a pc 64 mb card can? my buddy has a pc with a geforce 4 ti 4200 (slightly worse than mine, though i couldn't tell you how), and he can run things in max detail on everything... though i suspect that might also be due to DX9, which is a m$ problem... er, *product*. i meant product...
all that having been said, i'm impressed as to how well my 733 digital audio g4 runs it, below system specs for the game. i can max out every concievable detail (with the exception of audio, which really lags my comp out) and it runs almost as fast as my "dm" optimized version (max twitch factor). it's a tribute to the strengths of the g4 that it can run it that well, as it runs almost as nicely on my rig (733, 1.25 gb ram, 128 mb geforce4 ti, 10.3.2) as it does on my buddy's 2.8 p4, 768 mb ram, 128 mb geforce4 ti and winblows xp.
single play lags my computer pretty bad in places. [humble] i'm pretty damn good at fps [/humble] so when i can't play the game above normal due to the lag issues, they're pretty bad. of course, in places there's upwards of 35 NPC's, all shooting at each other and you, so a bit of lag on a rig below spec is understandable.
so basically as long as i avoid online servers with more than, say, 25 people on them, i should be fine. well, the *hardware* won't be an issue there, it'd be the latency. but that's neither here nor there...
kinda like the end of my post.

Gee, and I thought I 'splained things so well here (starting about halfway down) thru here
...and many places in other threads in Games and elsewhere going back months.
