You know what's kind of nice...

Since Mac Halo is stuck at 1.02, almost everyone on the servers are Mac users. I've never experienced this in an online game before.

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

well, you'd think that anyway... apparently there are some people (somehow, i think they're cracked versions) that play online that either really hate their computers, or are pc users... one guy that was getting his ass whooped by me  big_smile asked what the [MA] tag stood for, and i told him...

eek
INSTANT flame war.

Immediately, a large toad leaped into her lap and looked at her as if it wanted to be loved. "Grep," it exclaimed. "Don't mind him," explained the Mad Hacker. He's just looking for some string."

that is entirely possible, although the usual flood of "get a real computer" and "macs sux" and other such jibba-jabba came from people there. though when i asked how it felt to get "pWNED" by someone on a mac, that shut them up for a while (as they ignored flags and concentrated entirely on killing me... my team had a field day with that one  tongue )

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

Heh, well I've had good luck so far. I mentioned a few times that I just got "the PC version of Halo" after playing it on the Xbox, and usually got a ton of "oh, I just got the Mac version" responses. Then I started admitting that I was a Mac user once everyone else appeared to be. wink

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

i was surprised, the mac people there outweighed the pc people and the undecided/noncomittal people. usually if someone figures out i'm on a mac i'm ganged up on by all but one or two empathetic pc users who secretly wish they had a mac. it's always amused me how you can get flames by saying "i'm on a mac" but if you say "i'm on a pc" people just kinda look at you funny.

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

Someday we're gonna have to all get on a team and then see what happens when you announce that the PC rabble is getting their ass whooped by not one, but 8 mac users.

He didn't really want to have that flag, anyway.

I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

lol, you should've seen it. all 5 of the guys on their team just spawned in and tried to take me out (we were on blood gulch), while one teammate of mine sniped 'em and the other 3 took a 'hog and just waltzed in, took their flag, and waltzed back. meanwhile i'm just runnin' and gunnin' in the middle of the arena, with my shottie and rocket launcher... BOOM there goes 2 of 'em, BOOM there's another one, then i can usually take out the other 2 with my shotgun, ending it with an embarrasing melee kill for the last guy  twisted

::wipes tear:: it was so beautiful

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

I've noticed that a lot of Mac users flagrantly display their pride in their names. People run around with names like G5Beast or G4fury or something. It's kinda cool.

Re: You know what's kind of nice...

I was playing last night, and a guy asked me if I had the machine to run it well. I said yes, my mac runs it find, and he responed that he would "take it easy on me." I fragged him 4 times in a row before he could bring my sheilds down to a red level.

hey, as long as people are willing to make themselves easier to kill, i'm all for them "taking it easy" on me. that is, unless they're on my team... then they're just cannon fodder.
