Server Lag?

GUI has been tweaking the server in hopes of fixing the lag problems.  Have any of you had any lag problems lately?

Last night the server disappeared.

Re: Server Lag?

I actually thought it was slightly better the last couple days. There have been times I would swear this thing is hosted on an SE powered with electricity from a gerbils treadmill.

Re: Server Lag?

OK, I should have been a bit clearer.  If you can give us specific times, that'll help.  Its possible that some of your server disappearances might be while GUI had taken it off-line for tweaking.  A time will help us eliminate those from our concerns.

Re: Server Lag?

It happened to me about 14 hours ago.  Safari timed out after trying for 60 seconds.  This happened repeatedly.  Other times, posting takes up to a minute to post.  It doesn't happen all the time though.

Re: Server Lag?

I have taken naps in the middle of my posts, but it had nothing to do with server lag. Generally I never notice any difference at all except when somebody used to pirating off my airport. (Set up a password to fix that)

An SE?  When did they upgrade?

Re: Server Lag?

I don't have any lag problems that seem out of the ordinary. Every once in a while it will take a little longer to load a page, usually after submitting a post, but it has not struck me as being noteworthy.

bah.. someone beat me too it!

I don't seem to have any lag problems, I can do almost everything fine... however I can feel it in my knees if there is going to be a storm. Other than that my lags are fine.

Well I missed it all together! Man, I really need to read these things more carefully.

I was only on for a little bit last night, but i've been on most of this morning, and haven't had any kind of lag at all.

I noticed lag while I was typing in a reply box.  The characters were going slightly slower then the actual typing speed.

That's not a server lag, though. That would be the purely fault of your computer or browser and is not something the MAF admins can fix.

Yep.
I haven't had lag in at least 5 months.

Re: Server Lag?

Haven't have any lag in the last week.

Of course, not connecting to the server in the last week may have been the cause.  tongue
