The temp server was CTF but it was kind of hard to play CTF with 3 people.

Actually, I think the problem was it was too easy...

Must have only been NAG on the server.

The temp servers seem very temp: I've never been able to access them.

Well, it's there - it was down from approx 3 am to 10 am EST this morning while my dad uploaded a large file to an FTP server. It will also be down sometime tonight for a half hour while we throw another hard drive in it... I wish I could be more speciffic about the time frame but yeah... I'll try to do it when no one is on it.

I don't know if all the servers are laggy, but the MA server is a little bit. If you shoot the warthog with the rocket hog, you see the explosion, then one second later it flips.

I noticed that for the first time last night my self - and I've got a LAN connection to it!

Re: Can som1 set up a server now?
I was reading on one of the PC forums that there's an inherent lag to the multiplay aspect of the game. Apparently, the networking engine used for the multiplay is brand-new code written specifically for this game, and it still has some bugs to it, with no thorough fix foreseen any time soon. I would honestly be surprised if they did a total rewrite of the code and released it as a gargantuan update (anyone who's played Tribes 2 on PC will know what I mean).

Re: Can som1 set up a server now?
I also have some questions as to what the available servers are running on. If you have the typical cable connection though your dl speed will likely be > 1000 kbps the ul speed is considerably less usually < 256 kbps. How many people a server can host is primarily determined by the ul speed and at the typical cable speeds that will likely be no more than 4-6 tops. Add to this the overhead of vehicles and I think you'll see many slideshows and goofy lag situations (I shot him 4 times with the fuel rod gun and a second later he killed me with the hand gun.). DSL connections are no better and often worse.
To do it right the server must be on a fat pipe and dedicated with nothing else sucking band width from the same LAN/WAN connection.
If you want to know what your dl/ul speeds are for your connection go here and run the tests.

Re: Can som1 set up a server now?
I was playing on another server with some messed up lag. I was in a hog and hit a tank, I flipped and died. Then I was standing there, so I tossed a sticky nade on the tank. Then I was 3 hundred feet away and the tank shot me.
