Wireless Internet Weirdness with Internet Sharing
Ok, so I've got my iBook sharing my DSL connection by going through my desktop G4, and when I'm surfing the net, I experience a lot of weird problems. Right now the list includes: several Web pages refuse to load; I can't submit posts to MA; and neither Chimera or Explorer work at all (I have to use Safari, which isn't terrible, but it's still weird). Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there a fix? If I plug my iBook back into the modem directly, everything works, so it seems the problem has to be with the sharing. Thanks.

Re: Wireless Internet Weirdness with Internet Sharing
I've got a home network based off a G4/450 broadcasting my earthLink DSL to my PowerBook and have the same erratic behavior. Both machines are on OS 10.2.3
Problem sites include, but are not yet limited to:
- apple.com (funny, that)
- hotmail.com
- msn.com
Specific problem is that they will not load. Period. Infinite loading...but no resolution.
My guess is that the 'tower is having difficulty playing the role of DHCP server as I'm broadcasting using an Airport card, not a base station. (by checking the box that says 'share this internet connection with other airport-equipped computers)
I don't have an answer right now, but wanted to reinforce the fact that this is unusual, and that you're not crazy. Will be back if I find the answer...

Re: Wireless Internet Weirdness with Internet Sharing
I discovered one small thing to do that fixes one site out of a handful of 'no load's:
Once you connect to your network your clock must be synchronized (the correct date + time) to send hotmail using IE in OS 9 and X. One way to do this is to check 'use a network time server' to synch time.
This didn't fix logging into citibank, apple, or newyorktimes.com in any browser.
