The following idea was a good one, but it DIDN'T ACTUALLY LET ME JOIN ANY 1.02 SERVERS WHEN I TRIED IT.

Okay, so I was in chat with Shibby and Slappy tonight, and we were wondering if it would be possible to install more than one copy of Halo on my PC so that I could keep my 1.031 saved games and such but also be able to play with anybody on a Mac.

How to Downgrade PC Halo from 1.031 to 1.02:
1) Make a copy of your Halo folder on your desktop and name the folder something like "Halo 1.031"
2) Insert your Halo CD and reinstall the game (add/remove, reinstall, yes to all, etc)
3) Download and install the PC Halo 1.02 patch from the Junkyard
4) Rename the folder in "Program Files/Microsoft Games" to "Halo 1.02"
5) Make an alias on your desktop of the app in "Halo 1.02" and name it "Halo 1.02"
6) Make an alias on your desktop of the app in "Halo 1.031" and name it "Halo 1.031"

Now you have two copies of Halo: v1.02 in the normal install directory, and v1.031 on your desktop.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY SINGLEPLAYER WITH 1.02
I don't know exactly what will happen if you do, but it will probably screw everything up since Halo keeps the savegames and checkpoints in one separate folder that will be accessed by both versions.
