I've decided that starting as of 2004, new years, I'm going to go for 40 day and 40 nights like in the movie.

Anybody that wants to join, it's not too late. I've already got one friend of mine to joining with me, the same one that didn't eat for 10 days straight (he's doing perfectly fine, it took him a few days to get his appetite fully back though), so he's really confident that he will make it.

I know the thread won't last that long, but I put it for a max of 40 days.

During this 40 days, I plan to re-start my work out that I stopped awhile ago (I will continue this after the 40 days though), and have nothing more than a hug from any female, not even a kiss on the cheek, no self pleasure, etc.

Anybody care to join?

I had a friend who tried to give up sex for lent last year. He lasted 10 days.

This wouldn't be any problem for me, since I don't get any more than a hug from somebody of the opposite sex...

I'm not familiar with the movie, and it isn't likely i'll be having sex in the next 40 days (at least with a partner), so that may work, but forget giving up hugs and cheek kisses. That's just part of a greeting and departure.

That's why the statement is added on, doesn't have to make sense, that's the rules. You can exclude that one if it's some sort of greating thing you do.
