Would you date a older woman/younger man?

Well seems times are a changing and a lot of younger men are considering dating older women, often many years older.   What are your views on this sort of relationship?

Re: Would you date a older woman/younger man?

Dunno if this belongs in MiniThink, but for what it's worth ...

Hell yeah! I've always found older women to be h-o-t! And experience has provided confirmation for my suspicions.

O'course, now that I'm getting a bit older, I guess I'm supposed to consider younger women. My wife's a bit younger than me (seven years), but I couldn't imagine a bigger age difference. What the hell would we talk about?

Re: Would you date a older woman/younger man?

It depends.  Something like 10 years is a bit outlandish, but 3-5 years isn't.  I knew a girl from school who is close to 4 years older than I am who I would have jumped on (not the best choice of words, but I've got the flu give me a break you know what I mean) given the chance.  I've never known anyone whose personality could brighten my whole day like her.  Sadly she had to leave school early in the semester, doctors found what could be a cancerous tumor on one of her ovaries.  Now every time I step into the studio at school I wonder how she is doing.  She just lives up in Burbank but for some stupid reason I can't remember her last name to look her up...

Yah, you should have seperate options - Older Woman, Younger Woman, etc, etc, since there may be a lot of women willing to date older men, but only a few men willing to date older women.

What makes for "older"?  2 years?  5?  20?

I'm willing to date somebody older - but probably no more than 5 yrs.

Frigging cowards. In my 20s I dated a woman in her 40s. She was totally amazing, too!

Re: Would you date a older woman/younger man?

I'm sexually attracted to young men the most. But, I appreciate the company of older men and women. Young men and women often are arrogant, superficial, and childishly manipulative. Attractive young men get a lot of attention in the gay community and get a big ego.

Older people have their own shortcomings, though. One of them is narrowness of vision - the inability to look beyond what they're experienced. Another is arrogance - the belief that their age justifies everything they believe.

Of course, what is "young" and what is "older" in this discussion. I'm now in my late twenties, so young for me is someone who is 17-23. Older for me is someone who is 28+

I'm usually not attracted to guys from their mid 30s on. I suppose this is logical, since men hit their sexual peak at 19. Women hit theirs in their 30s.

there's really no need for all of this

Re: Would you date a older woman/younger man?

At 22, 18 and 19 sometimes seem too young. As for women, I don't see anything bad about it. Although it would have to be a pretty exceptional case to date someone over 4-5 years.

Overall, age is pretty meaningless, it would not be a deterrent... as long as it's legal obviously and not too old as to start being unattractive.

However, people that do seek people much older than them often have mommy/daddy issues.

Speak for yourself. I've gotten much better as I've gotten older.

Don't wanna be dating no grannie.
Though women in their late 30's early 40's would still be fair game I guess...As to younger I doubt I'd date anyone under 25 at this point unless it were just for sex.

Re: Would you date a older woman/younger man?

My girlfriend is 20 years younger than I am. We have a great relationship (the first really good one I've ever had), and have been together for about seven years.

I was really reluctant to get involved with someone that much younger than I am, and she was a bit reluctant too, but we get along splendidly. Sometimes the age thing is a bit weird for us, especially her. It's not pleasant when a waiter or a sales clerk refers to me as her dad. But our friends know that we're good together, and once the initial weirdness wears off, they don't think that much about it.

WOW... XYZ... I've written some whoppers herein but this is just phenomenal from you... men at 19? women in their 30s? Wrong, wrong, wrong on both counts! Not sure what you were basing this on? You own experience... or lack thereof? Men have no clue about sex until at least 29 and women at 40!

Every man should have an older woman when he is young and a younger woman when he is old.

I am presently dating a female who is a year and several months older than me! That's not very significant, but considering we're in our teens, it is somewhat.

When I was 21 I dated a 27 year old.

So I'd say I'm OK with it.

Times are changing?

hmm.

When I was 16-17, I was involved with a 36-y-o woman.  She was absolutely gorgeous!  My folks found out about it eventually and told me either to stop or she'd get hit with statutory. sad

That was 1982.

But I suppose that doesn't count in that you are talking about 20- or 30-somethings who are going after a long-term relationship, yes?

Nope, he's closer to being right than you are.  Hitting your sexual peak and knowing a damn thing about sex are two entirely different things.

Peak Performance and Maximum Activity, Age of

In the male, the average maximum sexual frequencies for the total sexual outlets occur between 16 and 20, (Table 45, on p. 226, and Table 60, on p. 266, Male).

In the female, solitary sexual activities (such as masturbation, nocturnal dreams to orgasm) gradually rise to their maximum point. They level off and then decline after 55 or 60 years of age. (p. 353, Female). Kinsey thought that female instance of coitus was dependent on the male's sexual behavior. (p. 353-4, Female).

My first encounter, I was 12.  2 gals.  Wish I knew then what I know now.  Woulda been a whole different experience.
