He isn't quite able to jog, but he can walk up and down stairs, which is quite a feat in itself for a robot. ASIMO

Asimo has had an update.
TOKYO, Japan (AP) -- Sony Corp.'s walking robot already knows a few hip dance steps and can kick a miniature soccer ball. Now, it can jog -- a new trick that developers say is ingenious because it requires the machine to jump off the ground, even for a fraction of a second.

Well, I feel stupid now. It's even in the freaking quote I posted.
Ok, ASIMO hasn't had an upgrade, his competition has.
I'll just return to my little dark hole and go about my business now...

Re: Ford???
Some juicy Ford info for your perusal.
As an amusing aside, the Ford Pinto had to be re-named the Corcel in Brazil, as "Pinto" was slang for "small penis" in Portugese.
I think "Mustang" holds that title now.

A friend of mine has trees planted by Ford on his property. His dad wanted to chop them down but they are protected.
In the summer we are going to pee on them.

Re: Ford???
What's wrong the Japanese? I used to live there, and my mother currently lives there as well. The Japanese are very nice and hospitable. Another thing, they are very technologically advanced than the United States. As having my mother live there, I get the perks of having technologies that won't be released in the United States for years. O'well, just my two cents.
i would say that the japanese are no more "technologically advanced" than we are here stateside. except for toilet technology.
it's just that the average japanese is more cognizant and accepting of new technologies than the average north american, so consumer goods will be more in tune with the technologically savvy purchaser.
and as for fomoco: they own Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin. they have stakes in or are suppliers for numerous niche manufacturers (MG, Marcos, etc.). for all the gaffes they have committed with their various purchasees (jag x-type, etc.), Ford has done an excellent job in improving quality company-wide while retaining essential brand values. pretty much the opposite of what GM has done with its more recent international aquisitions; SAAB 9-2X and 9-7X anyone?
and the japanese haven't been all that great for quality in the past few years, either. if they were, Nissan wouldn't have had to enter into partnership with Renault to stay afloat.
surprisingly enough, i've been more impressed lately with the quality of stuff coming from Korea and Indonesia than Japan lately; though Japanese electronics still rule the roost, Samsung is really building some nice products with very competitive prices. Not only that, saying you own a Kia (or Hyundai) doesn't subject you to pity...

That had little to do with quality and a lot to do with the Japanese corporate structure that was killing Nissan. Renault's quality has improved thanks to the aquisition/partnership (depending on your point of view, it's either), and Nissan has reduced the number of platforms and significant costs in building its cars.
Japanese quality still ranks far ahead of just about everybody else's.

Not to mention the fact that they don't market their products very well. But yes, Nissan quality is generally superb.

I have had a Ford for 7 years now.
(The same one)
It has 130,000 miles.
Runs great.
I guess that is my take on Ford.
Here's is what I am saving $ for.
Does this mean I have a penile complex?
