Our company was thinking of helping fund something like this. We had a prototype light-up keyboard sitting around the office for a while back in June or July.
In the end we decided against it.

i'll have to wait untill apple releases a illuminated pro keyboard as that one would clash with the rest of my hardware.

What is the point? An ugly keyboard that isnt as good as the keyboard I have now for $100?

The point is, it lights up in the dark, so now you don't have to buy a 17 inch Powerbook 
P.S. I think it looks pretty cool!
