Best Setting for a 1.8 DP
What do you guys think are the best setting for me on this G5 with stock card 64mb video memory and 1 gig(512 per processor). I get hiccup in the biginning and under heavy fire with multiply players trying to kill me.
So many Video settings, don't know what I don't need. HELP!!

I don't know what screen resolutions your monitor supports, Cee but what you might do is set all the eye candy to max then try different screen resolutions and see if you can find one that is nice play wise. The other option is to fix a screen resolution you want and then play with the eye candy till you get the balance of play and looks you are happy with.
It really comes down to what you are comfortable with in the play v looks equation.

Re: Best Setting for a 1.8 DP
Another tool is statfps in the console. I keybound it to F12. That will give you a nice current and average FPS counter in the upper right hand corner. It even changes color! At least the PC does. Green any thing above 30FPS, blue for 20-29, red for anything below 19. I think those are the breaks.
Some suggestions:
Uncheck decals & foliage off. Put physics low. Those are marks on the walls from weapons, grass and how bots/peeps bounce around when you blast'em. I don't think you will miss them. The other checks are just eye candy. Its up to you if you want them, all take resources.
I would put it the way you want it. Bring up the FPS counter and play some matches watch the counter, see what you're getting. Adjust from there as Doc suggested. Some peeps like more res, lower eye candy, others don't mind a lower res if they get more eye candy.

How do you bring up statfps in the console?

Re: Best Setting for a 1.8 DP
At the prompt: stat fps
Sorry for the typo/brain fart. Doc is correct.
To keybind it:
Open your user.ini
Pick an unused key
Add stat fps after the=
Save and close
My F12 looks like this- F12=stat fps
