So the question was "Is soapboxing allowed?" I was under the impression it had been shelved as a rule. Is this right?Well, crap. I didn't see that before I posted the rule in here, that wasn't supposed to be an answer to the question. It was implimented because someone did plagiarize a post (which I suggest is what prompted the question I didn't answer).
To answer, yes - it has been put on the shelf for the time being.Who the hell's plagiarizing?

No source on that, just a further link to something else. The actual story comes from elsewhere (I linked to it).

I said I'd give a reason for locking threads, I don't believe I made any promises on how verbose I was going to be.
Stand by on that thread in particular - it may come back to life, if trimmed a bit.

In addition to not being free thought, it is also controlled thought... any deviance from this is deemed "trolling" by some non-understood and vague standard, to be detailed later... perhaps.

Why to the 'Circuit Board' Room? Beyond the "Apple" name in the story, it seemed to be more about current events and thus Ministry of Free Thought fodder? And I note that the post about "Church and State and my home town" by sevenofeleven was moved to the 'Rant' Room? Is there a move afoot to depoliticize Ministry of Free Thought?

6) No direct personal threats.
- No threats of death, bodily harm, theft, harm of family or friends, etc.
- No threats against elected officials.
- Camp David and Shnicky are not permitted to have anything to do with each others butts. That's just disturbing.
- Phydeaux is not permitted to use whips and/or handcuffs. Or display his tongue to the forum at large.

I'd like to lodge an official complaint about the Phydeaux-related ban. He's a true artist with that whip, dammit, and I don't think it's fair to censor someone so gifted.

No, no, he had to stop loitering outside Japanese primary schools. Restraining orders, y'know.
So if you have any buxum young Japanese acquaintances, you can let Phy babysit.
